Sounds like a fairly unbiased opinion of someone who has spent a lot of time in the trenches.

Hmm... I read lots of complaints about 'foreign' brands, then a few about Ford for good measure. Followed by insults of anyone that would drive a luxury brand. Seemed like more of a 'get off my lawn' than anything of value.

The G35/37 is a good car that can be had for cheaper if you by the Altima coupe. Same performance, less money. But not a gas sipper. Those all aluminium Nissan VQ motors are thirsty.

Huh? The Altima is not the same as the G series. The VQ engine has been offered in the Altima, but it's a totally different front wheel drive platform than the G series Infiniti.

The 2 door Altima IS a fwd G35

Though given a shorter wheelbase and shorter overall length than 4-door Altima, the Coupe looks like a cross between its sedan sibling and rich cousin, the Infiniti G35. ... Ahead of the doors it's all Altima, but aft of and including the C-pillar, it's all G35.Nov 29, 2006

Let me clarify things by posting the -first sentence- from the article you linked...
Yes, the new 2007 Nissan Altima Coupe is the poor man's G35, as long as the financially challenged don't mind moving the coupe's motivating wheels up front.
They are -not- the same vehicle.

As always, your right. I'm wrong.

They are the same platform, one uses rwd, the other fwd.

Then they’re the same engine... not same platform. In my opinion.

From 2007, Altima is on Nissan's D platform for front wheel drive vehicles that also includes the Maxima. The G series cars are part of the FM platform used on the Infiniti M cars, Nissan Z cars, and the GTR, among other things.
