Hey guys, I was wondering, next week im ordering the performance acc... 3in body lift and I was wondering do I need to order the shifter extender or can I get away without it? Will my shift throws just be shorter with out it?

And how easy is a body lift on a standard cab.

Im also replacing the left rear cab mount, I just ordered a new one off ebay for 77 bills and it came with a new rubber boot. Thanks

pretty easy, hardest part is the 2 front bolts, but the rest is kinda easy. u should get the extension, the steering ext too.
i did a 2" on mine and without extension the shifter hits the floor plate and console.
i had to do a "fix" on mine.

^^ x2. also, if you have the money, it will pay to go ahead and replace all the body and bed mount bushings as well. will make the ride lots better. think i only paid $50 for new mounts. if you have to drill out those front cab bolts, most just replace them with 1/2" grade 8 bolts/washers/nuts of the right length if the bl bolts don't work. the only other thing that will make the work easier is if you have 1 or 2 buddies helping you.
have fun!

its supposed to come in the kit, steering and shifter extensions, even bumper relocation brackets.
if u find a way to make your own bumper brackets it would be better, since some guys say that the brackets arent too good(floppy loose bumpers)

for the P.A. kit for a '94:
- the steering extentsion is included as well as bumper brackets for the front.
-I didn't use the brackets for the front; i didnt like them. i simply remounted my bumper by placing the bottom mounting studs in the top holes and left it like that. Not as sturdy because the top studs arent helping hold the bumper, but i never had an issue even after hitting multiple deer.
-Shifter extension isnt required. I didn't use one, i preferred the shorter shifter after the lift.
-If you have a manual T-case you need to extend the t-case shifter
-Rear bumper can be lifted by modifying the stock brackets and redrilling holes farther up the frame. i can take pictures if youre interested and cant find info in a search
-the easiest way in my opinion to remove the problematic front 2bushings is sawzall

Ill run out real quick and get some pics then...
And to extend the t-case shifter, i've never done it personally so im not sure how the shifter attaches to the case, but i would cut the shifter in 2 pieces and weld in a piece of rebar or similar material

The factory mounts are "L" brackets that mount to the bottom of the frame. To modify them i cut the bottom of the "L" off on each side and drilled 2holes on each remaining bracket. I then had a buddy help mock the bumper up making sure it was even and that the tailgate would still open becuase i wanted the gap between the bumper and tailgate to be minimal. Once it was in place i took a paint pen and marked my holes and drilled them out to match the hardware i had picked out.
heres how the bumper mounts look after i modified them:

You can see the two bolt heads on the bottom of the frame; thats where the L Bracket used to mount, i just left the bolts in place.

Gap is better than stock

and here is a random picture of the steering extension in place:

the steering section pictured is a slip shaft. stock, the bottom part is slid over the top section. you remove the bolt, slide(or beat lol) the bottom section down and off of the top shaft. then insert the extension, bolt it into the lower section, then slide that into the top shaft then bolt the top in. its self explanatory when you get the kit and have the part in your hand
