I am also having an issue, mine is with the hazard flashers. It appears that there is a combination turn signal/hazard flasher, under the dash. When the hazard flasher button is down(supposed to turn on the hazards)...nothing! Turn signals operate normally. When the hazard button is up(hazard lights to "off")...no turn signals. Both the hazard fuse and the turn signal fuse is good. This leads me to believe that the combo flasher is bad. Damn, a trip to NAPA in a blizzard!
The owners manual as well as the Haynes manual SUCK. The wiring diagrams are incomplete and the only accurate info was showing the fuse box layout. No mention of the combo flasher, at all. This is a '98 Ranger, by the way. Trouble-shooting is sure fun when diagrams and such, are lacking.
