- My credo
- In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Went to the junk yard this afternoon. The sun was out and temperatures were at the very top of the "constant nose running" range. So I decided to check out the new inventory. Mostly interested in stuff for the F250. They have a nice 2003 F250 and a 2002 F350 that I could probably harvest white hood and body panels from. I the F250 has a good front brake rotor I could use. But I didn't have my impact wrench with me. With a breaker bar, the wheel just keeps turning and I couldn't get anything wedged under it to stop that. I'll go back later in the week. I did buy a brake pedal switch in case that has anything to do with my cruise control not working. Didn't fix it. The grill on the F350 is almost perfect. Looks better than mine. But one of the tabs that the center emblem snaps into is broke. Emblem flops down on that side. Not worth the trouble of $38.
They only had 3 Rangers. Nice 95 with 4.0l. Not much there that I need. The door cards are great and don't seem to have any broken tabs. Not sure they'll work in my doors, though. They're shaped a little differently around the door handle. Mine are broke and loose and rattle with the speakers. The others were too new for me. No 4x4 hubs to harvest. On my way out, I passed a b2500 on the end of a row. Paused, thought about it, walked on out.
Nice, relaxing afternoon at the store.
