Bass Testing

I made this MP3 to accurately set my low/hi pass filters and to ensure my system was running correctly and such

EXAMPLE: It starts at 250hz for 30 seconds and the scales down by 50hz every 5 seconds until it gets to 50hz then stops.

Current Frequencies
100hz - 50hz
150hz - 50hz
200hz - 50hz
250hz - 50hz
300hz - 50hz

If anyone wants to start at a different frequency, ill make one and add it into the share folder.

hopefully soon (i hate friends with power tools that say they will help me, and then are too busy for me) i will be running a kenwood 12" with about 400w of pioneer amp, would that be good cutoffs for it you think?

I used 250hz because thats what they are actually rated for. Most kenwood's are at 300hz just see what your speakers say.

Made some new mp3's for those whos subs go up to 300hz and those whos are at 200. Again tell me the freq limit of your sub and ill make one

Wow, I had my 8" w3 and 250w TMA amp running this, and at 50hz the w3 just pounded haha, My speakers which are just some run to your mill 6x8's from bestbuy didn't like the 300hz though

most head units have basic 2 way crossovers, there should be a setting called hpf or lpf, i usually set mine around 90hz, Low pass for the sub meaning anything lower than 90hz goes to the sub. Hpf is for your door speakers which would let anything over 90hz to your speakers.

These would be for setting external crossovers on an amp which just have a knob instead of digital settings. If you wanted to set at 100hz you would adjust the crossover until it gets much quieter at 35-40 seconds if your using the 200hz-50hz file.

Id just use a 100hz test tone and measure the voltage with a dmm while adjusting the xover, when the voltage starts dropping you have hit the crossover slope.

Warning: Dont play test tones like these at high volume since most tones are 0db and music is recorded much quieter (-8db ~ -10db) so you can damage speakers and subs easily if you set your gains by ear to music then play these.

Added 150hz and 100hz. i dont think anyone here will want anything higher or lower.
