I finished my ranger swap at the beginning of last fall, 2016. I built a mild fuel injected 5.0 and a c4 transmission, I converted the transmission to 4x4 using C5 tailhousing and output shaft. Well..... I think the C4 is now fried.
I managed to drive to Charleston from Atlanta, on the way home I broke down 11 miles from the house. I lost 2nd gear and had forward and reverse. Any time I tried to go forward, any attempt to shift to 2nd would cause the truck to stop.
I attempted a repair, and dropped the pan. The magnet was covered in shavings and the pan had a thin layer of carbon sludge on the bottom. I swapped in a different valve body and put fresh fluid in. Now it won't drive at all.
At this point, I'm debating on swapping in a manual. Maybe a T18 or an NP435.
Any ideas?
