A friend of mine just offered me an old Cadillac that's been through a demolition derby but still runs amazing. It has a 500ci in it, and I'm considering putting it into my parts truck. I don't know anything more specific about the motor, but does anyone know if it'll even fit? Custom fab'ing's not a problem. I'd probably even use the entire Cadillac driveline, full-size axle and all. The truck'll never see pavement so it couldn't hurt. The only major issue, other than room under the hood, is it's an auto with column mount shifter. :S

bigblockranger put a 545 cube engine in his truck, so if your ambishious, it can be done. biggest problem is steering box clearance, heater box clearance, and header clearance. now is the caddy a column shift? if so, just convert to a floor shift. if the rangers a column shift, you can either just pull the lever off the column, or pull a column outta a j.y ranger and swap it. its not that bad on these trucks.
