91 without rear sway bars?

as the title says my 91 doesn't have a rear sway bar and was wondering if it was an option you had to pick while ordering the truck or something because it shows no evidence of ever having one such as no marks on the rear end from the mounts and the hole in the frame for the bolt is not there at least thats going off my parts 91. so just curious of any info on them.

Rear sway bars were not standard.

my 92 , 94 & 97 longbed 2wd’s didnt have rear bars. The 93 supercab did though. I tossed the front bar on my 94 some time ago, didnt like how it rocked the truck back and forth when dailly crossing a railroad track that was a 45 degree approach. Body roll doesnt bug me much, I dont try to get up to freeway speed halfway through the curve on a interstate onramp-it doesnt have the power for that anyhow. The 93 did and with bars on both ends with 255/70 tires it really held the road. Miss that truck.

If you do swap in a rear sway bar, you will see that it is very small diameter compared to the front sway bar. Pickups are very difficult to get consistent handling, since they go from weighing nothing in the rear empty, to weighing more than the front loaded. Too big of a bar in the back unloaded is going to make the rearend come around on you if you take a turn too fast.
