I've been looking high and low for a replace for my '01 Ranger. I'm just now reading about the 4.0 SOHC, and the timing chain tensioner issues. I've owned my 01 with 4.0 SOHC for about 8 years, but only 50,000 miles and the only reason to replace is that it's badly rotted out.
Should I approach the early SOHC's with caution, avoid certain years, or stick with older pushrod motors?
