The front end refresh is very well underway. I need to start thinking about getting rid of those 33x12.5x15s

I'd like to go to an AT 32x10.5x16 as there aren't many tire solutions in a 15 inch rim size.

So if I get the 16x8 5 on 4.5 and the 32x10.5x15 or 'road' equivalant; think I saw something like 275/75/16, should I be good ?

I think so but want to be sure before spending the $$$.

Search for tire size conversion and look for 1010 tire. They have a very nice size conversion app. It will allow you to figure out the diameter size in inches and if there is any tires out there for that size.

As far as the rim size, I think you’ll be good. I’m not sure on the factory rim widths. I think they are all 7”. You might have to go aftermarket to get 8”.

I'll take pictures of the 265/75R16s on my daughter's B4000 tomorrow when it is light out; they are 32x10.5R16s for all intents and purposes.

My credo
If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
largest 16" factory rims are 7's for width that will fit your factory hubs. But have a read of this tech section for help on choosing the proper rim size with back spacing: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech/ford-ranger-wheel-fitment-guide/ There are wider factory rims but the center bore will be to small for your hubs.

Personally I always liked the 32x11.50 look but they usually require fender flares to be road legal. But again this is just an opinion.

These are what on there now. Not sure about the rim but the tire size is 33x12.5x15. This pic is before I did an alignment and put much better used tires on. As a side note .. that front end is tore up.
The tires jut to far out from the fender wells and are muds not meant for the street.

Object is to go to a AT or street tire. Dump the muds. Won't be doing much mudding. Might play a little. And move to something not as wide and maybe 2 inches smaller which really equates to only about an 1 inch height loss. Right ?

And I want plain Jane black steel rims.

I hope the alignment helped. That tire wear is pretty bad. I agree that those rims are not a good match to the truck.

The alignment didnt really help. Im in the middle of a front end refresh .. ball joints, inner outer tie rods .. inner and outer bearings and seals .. rotors ..spindles bearings and seals .. all bushings ..

Anyway .. back to wheels and tires. I noticed a manufacturers name on the rim in the pic I previously attached .. duhhhhh .... I hit the Dick Cepek web page. Found that rim, DC 2 Black and the table that describes the rims they sell. I'm also going to see if the dimensions are stamped on the rim somewhere. Have 2 off for the front end rebuild so I can check front and back.

The graphic above shows only 2 possibilities (if previous owners didnt screw with the bolt pattern). I cant see where anyone would mount a 12.5 on a 15x8.

The graphic below gives me some idea what things will look like with regard to rim and tire size. https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/ ... just playing with numbers to see the results of the app. But these two pieces of information give me alot to go on ... and makes it much more easier than trying to measure all of this stuff.
Getting lazy in my old age ! :)

I think the 16s will do better given the height of my truck. Can you guys send over the dimensions of the wheels your using so that I have a jump off point.

I also prompted Dick Cepek .. here is their reply

Quote
Chris,
Thanks for the email. Based on the numbers you have given here is how this wheel breaks down:

· Size: 15X10
· Bolt Pattern: 5X4.5
· Backspace: 3.6 inches
· Offset: -47 mm
· Hub Bore: 83.82 mm
· Maximum Load: 2,100 lbs.
· Weight: 25 lbs.
· Part #: 1150421
· Material #: 90000000478
· Cap Material #: 90000000369

You can use these measurements to see if this wheel matches what you currently have. Some of these measurements or values may be cast on the back side of the wheel, you will most likely have to take the wheel off to see these. You can also measure the wheel to see if these dimensions match yours. Any other questions please email back or give us a call.

Ill check the rims today for any stamps to confirm the data they sent over.

So Im thinking maybe a 15x8 5x4.5 with something near 265/75/16 might be a good option.

Thanks for all the help and pics fellas !!!

Regards
Chris
