Good god, 1,500 a month... Cadillac doesn't even make a car nice enough to pay 1,500 a month!

A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
Farm equipment can get a lot of bailing wire and “I’ll fix it when it REALLY breaks”... that can let a machine fall into a state of disrepair that’s not worth fixing.
I was quad stupid when i bought the thing. It seemed like a deal so i jumped on it. It ran good and rode good, CVs were tight, etc.

When i got it home my buddy looked over it and choked when i told him what i paid.

But eh.

So far ive basically rebuilt the whole friggin quad and have over 3k+ in parts/dealer work. But eh...its gettin there.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
It's nice sometimes to just give some poor quad/bike a new life by doing absolutely too much work to it.

I bought a... 2000? Kx80 a few years back for too much. It needed every single bearing replaced, plastics, seat cover, bars/grips/levers, pegs&levers, pads&rotors, pipe&silencer, top end... Pretty much a tear it down and replace everything type ordeal.

I enjoyed doing it. Sold it for pretty much total invested cost too

This one had a good body. But mechanically it was tired. All new CVs, all new wheel bearings, all 4wd stuff, electrical work, calipers, reverse chain, engine top end....ball joints, springs, basically everything.

All ive done mod wise is 27in zillas and ITP steelies with a 2 inch lift.

I tend to make a habit out of saving stuff that shouldnt be saved. But ya know what...i know it inside and out and it gives ya a connection with it ya know?

My portals came in today...

42942

Well, 3 of the 5 boxes did. The other 2 are expected to show up tomorrow.
I managed to snag these on my way out the door for work... before my wife saw them. (What she doesn’t know, can’t hurt me.)

They’re portals to another dimension where I don’t have to go to work and I can ride my quad or SxS all day, everyday.
Or
To nowhere... they’re just gear reduction boxes.

Lead follow or get out of my way
She is going to know something is up when she has to use a step stool to get into the thing.

When my skid plate showed up... the wife was here. She said... what did you buy now?!? I told her it was part of my bumper that was back ordered. When she saw the charge on my ATM card... I just told her they didn't bill me for it until it shipped.

This is minor money compared to the bullet you have to dodge...

She didn’t notice the 2” lift, 28” tires, and new rims a few years ago.. so I got that going for me. Plus, I’ve already got plan in motion. I damaged a tire on the quad so I told her I’m going to move the 28’s to the quad and put new 31’s on the SxS.

Oh yeah... I keep a small slush fund for stuff like this. We don’t talk about that.

I told my wife that I ordered rims and tires (she’s working from home, there’s no way to sneak them past her)... she said “Oh good, I was wondering when you were going to get them.”
I guess I’ll have to install the portals this weekend so it’s ready for the new shoes.

I also told her Yamaha released the new Wolverine RMAX 1000 and I’ll probably pick one up next model year, after they work out all the first year bugs. She said “Why do you need 2 SxSs?” Which she quickly followed up with “I guess (our 10 year old daughter) can have the old one.”

Since it’s almost 3am and I’m still up, I decided to check SuperATVs website... they have the front high clearance, 1.5” offset control arms back in stock.
Ordered.

Check out the ground clearance on 28’s:

The 30’s came in yesterday, still waiting on the rims (same ones I have on there only 8” wide.)
