I installed a tripminder on my 89 2.9 ranger a while back, and subsequently discovered that my ecu doesn't put out the info for fuel consumption... Bummer... Does anyone know if any year 2.9 ecu has that output info?
Or, hey @PetroleumJunkie412 , does the megasquirt ecu have that output info?

That information didn't become available until OBD2 years, which the 2.9 never got.

There are some exceptions to this... I'm thinking of some of the high-end cars in the 80's in particular had this although I have no idea how it's calculated. My mom had a Grand Marquis when I was a kid, I'm almost positive it was an '84, (carbureted 302 in any case...) and it had a digital readout thing on the dash that displayed gas mileage, time, and a couple other things. I remember her complaining that it was never accurate.

I think my buddy's Cadillac Seville had the same type of deal too but don't quote me on that one.
