Do you have an auto or manual?

do you plan on upgrading the rest of your drivetrain?

You can't really just do an engine swap. auto or manual would make a difference as to what you want your donor out of, we allready know it's a 2 wd.

sorry its a manual and i would probably ugrade the rest off my drivetrain along with doing the swap, and by drivetrain we're talking about rear axle and drive shaft im guessing

Yuo can keep your stock axle, that's something to worry about at a later date.

If you want donor, go for a 5.0 Mustang with a manual trans. That's oftenthe cheapest way.

After having done the swap once, I feel I could do it cheaper without a donor, but it's nice to have the whole car there.

There was no manaul 5.0 Explorer, so this would be a more expensive way to go.
The Mustang harness is an easy swap if you want to keep EFI.
