1983 wiper arms

Well I have a new problem. Can anyone tell me if 1983 wiper arms are interchangeable with any other year car/truck?

I thought I would be ok on my build as I have a set of arms that were in excellent shape on a 92 ranger I have for (other parts).

Well went today and took them off the truck and splashed a new paint coat on them, then placed new blades on them, went to place them onto the 1983 truck, and they are too big for the hole that they slide onto.

I tossed the old ones as they were bent and crap, even the ones on my 1985 parts truck wern't in good shape.

So, can anyone tell me where to find a set of decent or new wiper arms for a 1983 ranger? or what will be a donor/cross fit.

Looked at lmctruck, they say they have them in stock for this year whooo... ok good to know cheers all

Or it may be possible to swap the wiper mechanism from the 92.

Yeah, second gen are different, I tried them in hopes that I could get the cam over action so they stay up for cleaning windows.

I think all first gens are the same, BII's are different.

Yes that could work, some one who has done it will need to confirm . However, it won't be going into the truck. way too much work involved in that at this stage of the game.
