Got my Edge Powerdome hood back from paint today. It fits pretty well, but it hits the grill when properly adjusted for the fenders. I adjusted the grill assembly down as far as I could but that wasn't enough. Is there a difference between the my grill and the edge grills? It's not a huge deal, but it causes a small gap on the driver's side and it bugs me.

The 01 Edge Grille is Open on top, the XLT is closed, and the 98 is just like the XLT.

Edge Grille

The Powerdome should fit on your 00 with No issue, it fits my 98 like a glove

^^Yup...Billy's truck's powerdome and his 98-00 grille don't hit and his hood is properly adjusted... maybe somethings up with your grille/header panel, front end...possibly tweaked?

Damn that lines up perfect, Casper.

Here's a picture of the issue. The front lip hits the grill and the hood pivots on top causes a slight gap (out of view) of the driver's side.

Front end might be tweaked - No known accidents though.

What's the skinny on putting an open top grill and large headlights on my year truck? Will it bolt up or require some fabrication?

Okay - Seems the 98-00 hood had a raised lip to fit over the grill, where as the powerdome hoods go straight across - Which is why mine hits. In theory yours shouldn't fit, but obvious it does. So, it must be that after market grill you have. :icon_confused:

Anyhow I don't want more chrome, and after doing some research it seems the 01-03 grill and headlight assemblies pretty much bolt up, correct? Before I start ordering parts can someone confirm this for me?

Also, I assume all I need are the headlights and the whole grill assembly - Is this correct?

Makes me wonder if the chrome grill is just a tad smaller, more rounded or something. Stock XLT grill I assume?
