In PA, we have to have a title to register and get a plate. No plate, no driving on the road. On exception I know of is wood splitters. They don't have to lights or plates. There are probably other exceptions as well that I'm not aware of but the wood splitter is the only one I'm aware of.

Don't need a trailer title in maine If it's older than 95 OR the unloaded weight is 3k lbs or less. Don't need a car title if it's 25 years or older, no titles on boats, atv/utv/dirtbikes, and no titles on motorcycles under 300cc.

one thing Ive heard of (but never seen in print) is that a trailer that is part of a machine (such as a log splitter, construction generator, ect) doesn’t require a plate at all. Granted I dont know for sure if its true, and laws vary from state to state.

A month or two ago I took the rubber/plastic fender flares off the ranger and put on stainless steel wheel well trim, well last week on the garage floor I found a few screw heads. For some reason the heads on a few of the self-drilling screws popped off, I think they were a #6 screw, plenty enough to fasten trim to a wheel well opening. Theres 5 per back assy & 4 per front, only the back ones were popping the heads off. Today I pulled the tires off so I could drill new pilot holes and put in #10 galvanized screws. need to pull the interior and take care of that rear window leak sometime but its been pretty hot lately. Im considering putting dynomat down and a vynil floor, Right now my floor is bare steel with some foormats thrown in.

Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
My poor car has so many miles on it I spun a wiper linkage bearing! I hope the dealer or LMC has a replacement.

There’s a few exceptions, wood splitters, construction equipment (generator, compressor, light stand, mortar/concrete mixers, etc), tow dollys….

anything under 3k lbs just needs title and plate, anything over needs title, plate and yearly inspection. IIRC, anything over 7k has to have brakes and anything under 7k that has brakes (including under 3k) must have a yearly inspection.

Worked on the green Ranger yesterday. Got the heads stripped off the 5.0, broke two bolts in the head that didn’t have the broken spark plug. So both are going off to have someone else deal with extracting that stuff. Good news is that the cylinders still have crosshatch in them and a couple had a little bit of very light scoring so overall it appears to be in pretty good shape.

Also temporarily affixed a couple tie downs in the back of the red Ranger and mowed my yard. Oh, and pissed off my GF because I didn’t drive out there last night.

I replaced my lower Mog 8771T ball joints today, as they were worn out and clicking. I installed them 23 months ago. Moog says they’re lifetime guaranteed, and to go through the dealer, so I’ll get a chance to check out Rock Auto’s customer service.

I installed the 2nd new starter In a month in the 83, let's see if this one will last till I get the 4.0 in. Last night I scrubbed the 4.0 heads down, all nice and shinny-ish now lol. This week I'll drop them off at the machine shop too see if their any good. If not I think I'll just buy a new pair.

pulled the trigger on a couple of fleabay items, a new black vynil floor ($145) and 50 sq ft of dynomat ($80) Might be driving it some this winter if it gets really bad out, not sure if it will help with the heat in the cab but it will at least look better and might quiet down some of the road/exhaust noise.

The sound deadener will make a world of difference for sound. It also helps with heat. I would recommend some aluminized plastic thermal barier got mine from home depot,, I installed it on the back wall,, and the fire wall above the pedals. I feel this has also made a great deal of difference, in heat retention.

What did you do to your Ranger today? I took the 8.8 apart and found this mess.
