Hey, new member here. Picked up a Ranger to replace my falling apart 87 Toyota. Ranger is twice the truck! Enjoy reading about other folks trucks, particularly first gens and 92's. Truck does not currently need any work but when it does I'll be here looking for advise.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but finally got around to pulling out my bed liner. I foolishly "assumed" (yes I know what that means) that the bed was in good shape based on how the truck looked, but started getting that sinking feeling that the bed might be full of holes. Was very pleased to see nothing more than some rub marks and a few scratches :)

Drop in liners get a bad reputation for trapping water and dirt underneath causing rot but if they are high quality OEM liners they don't and you will find, as you did, the bed underneath stays in pristine condition. :icon_thumby:

I love my factory drop in liner.

Mine's a protecta and there was quite a bit of pine needles etc, but it apparently stayed pretty dry so all is good! The truck had been garaged but on a small island in the San Juans so I had no idea if the salt air had done any damage.

It had 90125 when I bought it. No way to tell for sure it hadn't turned over with the lack of digits on the odometer, but 3 of the tires were dated 1997 and one from 1992, so I'm pretty sure it does not have 190K on it.

Funny you say that my first ranger was a 2000 regular cab and I always said to my self ,I would like the extended just to put purchases from shopping in a secure place and not moving all around in the bed . I guess what ever turns you on .....but I will say I will never own a quad cab they are just down right ugly !
