I'll be one of the first one's taking the corona vaccine. I don't as of yet know when it will actually be available, some say a month, some say spring. But first doses are going to those who are in the high risk catagory for complications and or death from getting the virus, and health care workers. My mother's nursing home informed them their staff and immediate family members are on the priority list so ill get one. Regular flu shots can give you a reaction (mine made my arm sore for a few days) so I see no reason to make a big deal about it.
The Media has alot of power over the effectiveness of a vaccine. Remember the Lyme disease vaccine? Probably not because it was only available for about 18 months 20 years ago before the media sensationalized the side effects. The FDA did a huge study on the effects and found no cause for concern but the damage was done. People read all the scary headlines and no one would take it causing the company that produced it to simply abandon the whole project. We now have no Lyme vaccine and no one will ever try to make it again. If the media starts hyping up the side effects again the same may happen with the coronavirus vaccine. If you make everyone afraid of it, no one will take it and it's completely useless.
Take the shot, maybe you'll feel like crap for a day or two. You've probably eaten burritos with worse side effects.
