I needed a truck for work. A friend was selling his and he gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. So now I'm the not so proud owner of a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab 4x4. 5.7l hemi, about to turn 200,000km, mechanically in very good shape. New brakes, front steering gone thru, really good tires, tow package, air bags, headache rack and tonneau cover, and other bling I couldn't care less about. Paid C$2,000.

Oh boy.. where do I start.
I had an ‘06 Power Wagon and sold it after getting tired of all the issues. So check to see if a dealership has actually done the recall work on the airbags, careful putting weight on the a-pillar grab handles unless they’ve already been reinforced, and try and keep the rear brake caliper pistons clean and clear of things that could cause them to seize up. Seems like common sense but these are a few of the ‘safety’ items that are prone to failure on 3rd gens. Luckily you don’t have a 4x4 2500/3500 so you won’t be plagued by the horrible steering issues that the solid axle Dodges are well known for. That 5.7L will make you smile though, it was enough to regularly break my 35s loose if I wasn’t cautious. Can’t beat it for $2k!

Check out CJC off road, they make some beefy brackets if you wanna add some more lights inside the stock bumper

the grey-t escape
you know, of all the current new trucks, only the dodge appeals to me visually. I really dont care for the looks of the new ford or gm offerings. the last full size ford I liked the looks of was dads ‘05 super duty. He just got a ‘09 or ‘10 to replace it and I hate the front end, want to swap the front clips out. I have drove a ‘08 durango with the 5.7 hemi. was fun but sure used the gas with my heavy right foot.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

We’re going to rag you about it. But sounds like a decent deal.
