simple question. I simply don't have the money for moogs so please don't say "go with moog"

Napa Master ride vs. oreilly's master pro

the napa parts only come with a 12 month warranty
oreillys come with limited lifetime.

any experience or knowledge of either of their quality?

I know what you mean about moog products. I would like to have them but who has that kind of money to replace the front end. I know these are not from Orileys or Napa but I bought the $20 ones from AZ and they have worked for 1 1/2 without any problems.

But in your case I would go with the lifetime.

Master pro is kind of hit and miss quality wise, some of its good some is okay. Warranty is nice but there still not going to cover a alignment if they do fail.

do you have 2wd? what tie-rods are you replacing? I believe you have the twin I-beam right? how much are the ones you are looking at?

I don't care what kind of warranty a product has. Even if they claim lifetime, in most cases particular companies won't honor a failed part due to it being on a modified truck. Hell sometimes a plain jane 4x4 not modified at all will discourage a company from replacing a part. I've had that happen before. They end up sticking it to the customer.

I just go with what I can get at the moment. Really? Is moog so much more expensive you can't buy those? Sounds to me more like your biased....

I however almost never buy moog parts, not because the are more expensive (and hardly so actually) but because of the availability of other branded parts.

One store will have everything in stock, while the other has to order all their moog parts.

Pick and choose I guess.

Most brands are ok, I just know to stay away from duralast products.

how long do you plan on keeping the truck?
How many miles do you drive a year?

its a significant price difference. rwd. replacing the inners and outter, ball joints, adjustment sleeves and wheel bearings. I'm going to take my chances and try to get away with the original pitman arm.

I drive anywhere from 3-10k per year. its not my daily driver, except in winter.

it has no resale value so i figure until the wheels fall off (which im trying to prevent). I'm still getting 25mpg winter and 31 summer. No rust except for underneath, the paint is as perfect as it can be for a 17 yr old vehicle.

master ride- 184 not including ball joints that i already bought.
moog- 297 also not including the ball joints.

what brand BJ's did you buy

is the price quote youhave for the 4 tie rods or does it include the wheel bearings also?

I priced the 4 tie rods out on napa for you and got about $165 plus tax and I priced the 4 moog tie rods out on rockatuo.com and got about $170(shipped). I also priced the rabestos service grade out and got about $80 for those...............I would only use TIMKIN BEARINGS.....

I am not sure if you have an Advance Auto around you but I looked on line and it seems they have the moog priced very well.........plus with Advance you order them online and can save 30% plus or minus......then you pick them up....i do it all the time.......

also when you order from rockauto.com there is no tax and you get the 5% code off the internet and that usually pays for about half the shipping...

moog here i come! How do i order to a store on advanced auto? I found a discount coupon online for $50 off their parts which brings me relatively close to the cheap parts with just 1 yr warranty.

you can click either in store or deliver........you click in store and it asks for your zip.........then it will tell you what stores have them in stock.........also you want to try a few of those discount coupons some even work together?.......again I would not ignore rockauto.com..........it is a GREAT company.........

X6... I have couple buddies that run their own auto shops and they use Rockauto.com for 90% of their work. They ship usually the same day and are reasonable as hell. I just ordered my DPFE sensor and rear spring hangers on Monday afternoon and have them already. Love it. Also not sure if its been said but be sure that they all are greaseable. I got a TRE from our local parts store and made the mistake of telling them whatevers the cheapest (work parts running truck) and it was a brand name (can't recall which brand) but it wasn't greasable.. couldn't believe it.
