Ever done the throttle body upgrade

t/b

yeah true that, i ported and polished the heads, and lower intake, have headers, underdrive crank pulley, live wires and coilpack. just want a little more power.

mine has been running fine with no codes,i think a throttle body unless you change the cam or rockers there is no way you are going to get more air into your engine.the better airflow from a less restrictive filter and smoother intake tube might help draw in more air,but without a tuner supplying more fuel are you really taking advantage of more air?

the better airflow from a less restrictive filter and smoother intake tube might help draw in more air,

For 1999 K&N does not claim any increase from drop-in and "claims" 5.5hp from cone filter and intake kit, but not until 4721 rpm and WOT, not really a useful range for street. They do not show the dyno chart so torque unknown. The pistons "draw in" the air.

but without a tuner supplying more fuel are you really taking advantage of more air?

The computer determines the A/F ratio from the air flow rate (determined by throttle plate) as well as other measurements. I doubt a K&N or equivalent at only +5.5 hp WOT will over supply air to a point you need a tuner, especially since it's the piston displacement and rpm's that determine max air flow.

Want a little more power?

Increase the displacement and/or add forced induction.

You can put in some lower gearing help with acceleration.

Adding things like...Throttle bodies, Air filters, etc will do absolutely nothing.

+1... A big giant +1... You can spend all kinds of time and money doing stuff like that, but it won't help...

I have a 93 ranger that i did a 302 swap, hauls but but drinks gas, so i was just wanting to pep up my other ranger with the 3.0

If you want pep, come drive my 2.3 then hop back into your 3.0

You'll have found pep. :icon_thumby:

There is no "bolt on" throttle body upgrade for the 3.0. I've covered this before with you, the last time you posted a thread asking this same question.
