disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Got a bit more done today. Pulled both wiring harnesses. Went to u-pull and got new gas lines because I cut them before the quick disconnects not realizing they dont mate up to the B2 lines. Went to the hardware store again to get new bolts for the exhaust. The first ones I picked up were a hair too short, the ones I got today were too long and wont tighten down all the way. Ended up cutting down the long ones.

I would highly suggest using studs for the exhaust manifolds that way if you ever need to take em off later, you will not have to worry about breaking another one in the head...

Used the winch to pull the B2 in the garage out of the rain.

what trans are you running behind the 4.0?

Hey Dustin, why don't you get a D-ring that bolts to the floor, and ancore it to the floor...

I'll be using my stock FM-146 for the time being. M5ODs are not easy to come by around here.

Not a bad idea. But it will be down the road. Too many projects right now.

Fuel lines done, alt/starter/distribution box all wired in.

Anyone know how to remove the fan clutch? I realize it is left hand thread, but is there a trick to it?

u can buy a tool at advance auto or some auto parts store to take it off. or u could make one it locks the fan in place and hooks to the bolts on the water pump.

when i worked at autobone we had a loan-a-tool to take them off, they can be a bitch

Yeah it wasn't part of the plan, but I bent it real good when i pulled it, and I just happen to have a brand new Flex-a-lite fan that was supposed to go on my old Toyota pickup about 6 years ago.

AutoZone has a loan a tool program, they don't nothing to use, but you need to leave a deposit which you get back when you return...Advance has something similar, but they sell you a tool, and refund it when you bring it back...Not sure about O'reilly's...

i always just got a long extension and put it on the side of the nut that holds the fan on (off centre to the side that you would spin it to loosen it) and hit it with a hammer it shocks it as if you were using an impact gun then you can just spin it off by hand

i wouldnt run the flex-a-lite, youll be much better off with a stock one

A Taurus E-fan would be better for trail use....
