Gt-12

You have a car the size of a refrigerator with two holley four barrels sticking out of the hood, no further WOW factor necessary.

Gwaii doesn't know the meaning of the word "Necessary"

He's more the "Hey that sounds like fun" kinda guy.

If he wasn't, this thread would not exist.

how about clearance between header and tire? i'm worried about melting tires! :(

the tire is only that close when steered full lock.in the vast majority of the driving there's lots more room.

more of the same....

all that origami from last night is getting turned into something more substantial.i'm trying to make as muck of the shape by bending, rather than welding,as it saves time, money, and makes the finished product look better.

having said that, when theres this many bends on a small piece some planning is needed.every bend must be thought out to make sure it's possible to do.i've had to cut parts from the brake before because after a bend there was no other way to remove them.

after much planning and visualizing,it turned out ok.

and in place,i'm one step closer to getting the trans tunnel made.

Now I see another reason why it's a automatic now room for a third pedal. although heel toe clutching will be easier for drifting!!:icon_hornsup: Steering is gonna be tight too.

I see Vise grips at work!

ya,there's no room for anything there.

as for the vice-grips,i should have taken a pic when i was welding the new piece in-there were 8 pairs holding things in place.

amazing work gwaii

looks like carrier bearing or main bearing cap for steering shaft support? haha:headbang:

that's actually the original triumph column bracket.

Steering is gonna be tight too.

another interesting point about that-normally the gas pedal is well to the right of the steering column, with the brake slightly to the right.on this one the gas pedal is slightly to the left of the column, and the brake well to the left.

this thing needs to be driven in a very unnatural position.

Yea I see that, your feet will be off to the left a bit. Do you have a shoe or a boot you can put in the picture to show size?

how about a couple of feet....

as you can see,my left foot is tight to the cage bar,and my right is tight to the firewall.this leaves just enough room to squeeze a brake pedal between.barely.

while i was in there with the camera,i figured i'd get a pic through the windshield.it's hard to get a feel for the view with a picture, but this is the best i could do.

Make it a convertible and straddle the tranny

Ah, word choice:icon_rofl:

The view through the windshield looks killer Tom, should be a fun time on right hand sweepers.

are you going to move the steering columb over? it seems that you would have to be reacing off the the left and side whie driving

that's the way you drive these things, even stock.

here's the driver's seat.....

gt6005-43.jpg

and no,i haven't modified it in any way.that's how they come from the factory.these cars are so small you have to drive them leaning towards the middle.the passenger seat looks just like that, but offset the other way.

and if i moved the column over any the steering wheel would be hanging out the window.:D
