Sweet score!! I haven't decided if I want to make a new fuel cell in the bed, or make one behind the rear axle where the factory spare used to be. I'm leaning more towards the bed, but I will have to decide on something to do with my toolbox...

I want to measure the distance between the framerails directly over the axle and long as the fuel cell will fit, cut a hole in the bed and utilize the extra room from the body lift to almost "recess" the cell so the weight is down lower and will also help with traction in the rear. The cell is 20x18x10 i believe....

You could do something similar to that under your toolbox and route a filler neck from the top of the cell to the existing filler door...

Either way, im not afraid to take the grinder to the bed or frame rails

Yeah, I was somewhat thinking of under the toolbox, and as you stated, cutting the bed floor for the tank would lower the COG, not to mention adding weight over the axle for needed traction....Hmm, another mini project

i like the idea of it up behind the cab my buddy did that with his toyota and it works awsome. thers about as much under the bed as there is sticking up and once he fills it we can go for a very long time b4 it needs anymore

Pretty much. 6" coils with 2" of lift from stacked washers.


And thanks for all the comments guys! hopefully this thing will be progressing here again soon. I've been busy swapping motors and other odds and ends on the jeep which I finished today thank goodness AND I'm having to deal with repairs and whatnot to my DD thanks to a deer. So I've been drained financially, timewise, and I'm just tired of working on GM and Chrysler junk. I need to wrench on the Ford for a while

Sad to say but I've got the bed removed and thats about it.. I scored a set of belltech 6400s on Ebay for $27 and waiting for them to come in then doing the chevy spring swap. I need leaf spring bushings though and can't find any for a reasonable price. Any suggestions?

Also have a sale pending on the D35 so that may be on its way out next week... Back to jackstands until I find a good condition D44 TTB

Lol the bling bling wheels are 5x5.5 already. I have wheel adaptors on right now to work with the D35

Thats all thats happened in forever.. I have no funds to pick my motor up Obamacare, I mean Medicare, is so screwed up right now its killing business at work making it almost impossible to get overtime.

Front end is out again. Finally found a buyer for it, so I'll use those funds to do the D44 TTB swap

-Mocked fuel cell up(no pics!) and it'll fit beautifully between the frame rails, just need to decide if i want to use the stock fuel door... Used an exhaust clamp to fab a bracket inside the frame rail for the Holley Red Pump.
-D35 TTB is sold! Already found and purchased a D44 TTB with a spare set of shafts that I'll take delivery of Saturday.
-I'm considering coilovers in the front for ease of mounting, simplicity, and ride quality. Any one have any advice on how to select the appropriate coilover? such as how to measure for length and spring rate for a v8 regular cab?
