7.5L_STX: SAS, Big Block Swap

and your username is 7.5 lol

edit; and your signature! haha

Wrangler #1's... best name for a tire ever. Keep it up buddy:D

but right now im just finishing up my steering and trac bar. thats the last thing to do on my SAS. engine will have to wait until i either find a job or win the lotto, .

threw me off a bit. I thought you were going to throw the stock motor back in to drive it until you could afford to do the 460

To Boggin :thefinger:

oh haha, no, i actually was lookin for a 4.0 just to throw in it so i could drive the damn thing until i had enough money to put the 460 in but the timing wasnt right, the guy needed the money right away so i couldnt get it.

edit: the stock 2.9 is long gone, ran it out of oil lol. ill tell ya what though, when that 2.9 was running with no oil it sounded like a small block. it was super loud and raspy. it sounded better than the pissed off bee type of thing that it had goin on before haha.

well enough of the updates, back into the garage :icon_welder:

well i got half the floor done tonight then the welder ran out of gas :annoyed:

so tomorrow hopefully i can finish up the floor, either way that will probably be the last update for a while. my dads super poopy (duty) needs to get in the garage to put his new plow on. so were puttin the ranger in the backyard with his F-150 (his muckin machine). and it will most likely stay there until i find a job :bawling:

alright, i got a question for you guys. i had the engine in the truck when the frame was on blocks but i havent had a chance to put it in with it sitting on its new axle.

so my question is, how much do you think it gonna sag down once i set the 460 in it? my coils are skyjacker 8" springs.

well with my 400 in my 79 she only went down about an inch with the motor in her, not much sag at all. your is probably wat, 6-700lb? probably a couple inches, and the springs usually settle a bit after a while too

the engine itself weighs a little over 700 lbs. the reason im concerned is because the coils i have were intended for a 4.0 at the most. :dunno:
