My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

What would it look like sprayed on clear?

My guess is a whitish color but I honestly don't know. When I mixed the black basecoat in it turned grey as I started stirring but then it went black...

This stuff will fill the hell out of scratches and small dents too. I half ass repaired some bigger dents and the bed now looks dentless except a small one I missed.. I'll call it a charactor dent....

It would have been gold... Decided it was too much to deal with and with the weather turning cold I am ready to get it done so solid black she goes... But it would have been cool...

Just as well. I don't think a gold cobra would have turned out well anyway. Not trying to say that you could not do it. Given the shape of the bed floor with it's ridges and valleys, it would have only looked right if you were looking straight down on it. Now if you were ever to put on something like a hard tonneau cover it would probably look good on there.

I am glad you had good experiences with the DIY bedliner. I am thinking about doing something similar when I finish my little truck. Depending on how I paint it I may do two tone, but my other color would just be straight lines rather than an elaborate design.

At this point I am glad to be able to check it off as done!! It's too much work to do multi color with spray in liner... It takes too long to dry... Mine was still tacky this morning....

I know I found this thread late, but reading this has really inspired me to start on my 91. Your truck looks amazing.

Is the bed liner you used better than the dupli-color armor shield stuff? I was thinkin about putting one in here soon.

Yes it is better. The stuff I used appears to be the same as what you would pay someone to spray... I love the look and feel of mine.

Any reason you did an over the rail bed liner? I just think that it would of looked better doing an under the rail on a street truck... other then that though the build is great!!! You sir have a lot of talent!

Thank you sir! I went over cause I thought the flow was better seeing as how i sprayed the top part of the very front (under the rear glass so to speak) and the top of the tail gate. Plus I wanted to add a little protection from loading and unloading my bike.. I went with a pretty thin coat on the bed sides so it kinda blends in a bit. It was a pretty tough decision to do it on the bed sides I will say that... Plus the key word is street truck not show truck so I want it to stay functional.. It was a pretty tough decision to do it on the bed sides I will say that..

Alright... I figured it was for actually using your bed as a truck bed but your truck looks to nice to actually use it! haha...

I have an Idea for the spare tire, get one of the little cable winches from an Explorer, you would have to put a small hole behind the lic plate for the jack handle, you then can just cable the tire up and down.

4th gen Rangers also used the winch, but I think your truck is so low you may only be able to slide a donut spare underneath it:icon_twisted:
