enough vodka, and you forget you are itchy:icon_thumby:

Good point...........I have a half gallon of Absolut with your name on it..:icon_cheers:!

but do you have the matt and resin....and holy cow-you're further east than i thought.looks like a long drive.
might need more than half a gallon.:D

that was a good pun:icon_rofl:

as for the fab & chassis,it's just an unfortunate thing i got to do to support the motor.i can hardly wait to rev it up.

the motor's not actually rebuilt, but it's in perfect condition.the guy i got it from was a stickler for maintenance....the oil i drained from it looked like it came right out of the jug.it's that clean inside.

I will admit, it was clever.

I thought you were also going to rebuild the motor later. I guess I forgot. I was looking forward to what the heads look like and other stuff. Ah well! If it's that clean and well maintained, I wouldn't rebuild it either! Those gaskets must be a pain to locate.

I wish I could say that about more of my ex girllfriends :icon_rofl:

Vodka time! What're ya drinking tonight, gwaii?

:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl: Nice, and grody. :icon_confused:

She was the neighborhood bicycle? Everyone got a ride?

And was at a bar earlier with 2 friends (I only ate cuz I forgot my ID/wallet at home. :annoyed:) Mr. Johnny Walker is now keeping me warm...

update.....no tires.:annoyed:

should be monday or tuesday, but around here you never know.

otherwise, been mostly doing rust repair on the hood-had to rebuild the left front corner as it had rotted away.

the lower front valence is pretty rotten, too.i think i'll make a new one from fiberglass.i can buy a new one for $300+shipping,taxes,etc-but then i'd still need to modify it because i'm changing the way the bumper and tilt hood hinges work and the valance has notches for this.

i'll document the fiberglass work for the sake of anyone that wants to know how to do this type of stuff.it can be a handy skill to have.

BOOO! How long does it take for stuff to actually ship to HI?

And I've done glassing on boats. Very itchy for a couple days afterwards, indeed. Oh Hell, don't even get it on the forearms!

But it's fine, easy, and I think people should learn to do it as well.

Got you covered!

...in what? Fiberglass?

jk

Happy Friday, guys.

HI?.....if you mean hawaii,i think you are thinking of the wrong pacific island.i'm on haida gwaii, off the coast of northern british columbia.takes even longer to get stuff here than hawaii.

and glassing on boats is one of my main jobs,so ya,i'm (unfortunately)very familliar with the old forearm itch.but,it pays the bills,so what can you do.

enjoy your evening with johnny!:icon_cheers:

this is the valence panel i was referring to....as you can see,it's pretty much had it.

a bit dark...but this is the corner of the hood that i needed to rebuild.

and the other side...doesn't need quite as much work, but theres still a fair sized chunk that needs to be cut out and replaced.

I hear ya on the itch....I used to work building lobster boats. You ever ground out an ENTIRE hull of a lobster boat with a 4.5 angle grinder? I have.....talk about itch....for weeks....

Oopsie, I guess I've always just looked at your handle and it computed "play on the words Hawaii." Just south of Alaska's tip...

That sucks. Especially with a 4.5" grinder. At least you didn't do it with a sanding block!

Thanks. Got a good night's sleep. Definitely needed.

i can certainly see where that would come from.....most folks outside of my area don't know much about these islands, and there's only about 4000 people here.
