01 or 05 351C

Its a Yates head and although it uses some of the Cleveland style design it is way superior in every way to any Cleveland head and it was designed to be on Windsor block and NOT A CLEVELAND !!! :icon_ rofl:: icon_rofl::icon_r ofl:

Ok, it is not the same cleveland it was 30 years ago, it's the clevelands grandson, and yes it evolved to an extremely beefed up W block.

My plans so far (all this is going to take a while) is; CHI 3v aluminum heads, CHI aluminum 3V intake, CHI or comp roller cam conversion, holley multiport injection with maybe a centrifugal blower. As for suspension a ladder bar rear shortened axle and 12" tires should be enough to get me close to the 11's at least. I talked with CHI and asked them about the combo I am looking at, according to them it should be close to 550 (N/A)same setup stroked close to 625 (N/A), I may go for the stroker, may not.

I have a 91 Ford Ranger with a 351 Cleveland and it fits just fine. :icon_thumby: The only real delay I ran into was that my 351C has a front sump oil pan, and I had to have a local machine shop build me a set of motor mounts. :icon_welder: If I put another 351C in a Ranger, I would buy the rear sump conversion kit. Other than that, everything else went good. :yahoo: I am using the stock exhaust manifolds until I can find a set of headers. I have plenty of pics of the mod if anyone wants them, just send me your email. :icon_cheers:
As for getting wooped by a 302, well, that hasn't happened yet! :3gears: :shok:

:D You haven't rolled it turning corners yet have you ? :icon_idea: Or lost any autocross championships ? :dunno::D

Here are some pictures I had saved of someone putting a 351W into a later Ranger. I think with his power output he went with 1 3/4" tubes. You can see how the front tubes have to move around and away from the suspension, just like the stock Explorer manifolds/headers. Glad he had the fenders off to make it a whole easier to view. These newer ones alway has some suprises in them.

No, not yet Baddad. :icon_rofl: It seems to hook up very well, straight or curvy, winding roads. :icon_surprised: I have spanked a few of the local hotrods though, and that was a lot fun! It seems that most people don't repect the 351C until after having a little demonstation. :icon_hornsup: Class is in session! HAHA!

I now have 2 complete clevelands, minus the 2 bbl heads i sold, I was given another complete cleveland with 4 bbl heads. I am planning on this being pretty well a straight line truck, with the headers going out side the frame rails.
