I used to have a big block 67 Stang. And it handled just as well as a small block car. It's all in how you drive it. And Cleveland blocks aren't hard to find.

Well I guess if you just drive it everyday from stop light to stop light and maybe a run here or there down the drag strip but if you live on twisty, whindy, hilly roads the extra weight is going to be a factor!!! To say your car handled as good as a small block car is completely silly. Have you run your car down a solemn course of cones and compaired it to a small block car? I will bet you that your car would have got its ass handed to it within the first 3 cones as it would not have stayed on course. Its a law of physics as your car is way to nose heavy. The only way that you could have over come the handeling physics of that very poor designed 67 front end is or was to replace it all with aftermarket parts. Nice try but you will need to try again.

Second thing the Cleveland was only made for four years and only came in cars and so there wasnt millions ever made and there are not many left out there. Good luck finding them...... :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:

It wasn't a "red lite to red lite" car. And I can hand your ass to you in any situation, in any vehicle, on any road. All it takes is practice and experience and the nerve to push a vehicle to it's limits, along with the judgement to know when to pull back. And I've had over 3 million miles of this on every different road and situtation you could ever imagine. I've seen many noobs driving expensive cars that supposedly "handled" well, that couldn't do what I've done in a loaded 18 wheeler. So don't sit there and tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. That BB Stang was completely rebuilt by me. And pushed thru and around curves at speeds that would make your ass pucker the seat. Yea, Louisiana may be flat, but we've got some of the knarliest, twisty roads you've ever seen. And up in the northern part, we've hills too and roads to match anything you can come up with on a road course. And Clevelands are not hard to find. You just have to know where to look. They were built long after 1974, well into the 80's "Down Under" Lots of those parts have found their way up here. And they were raced and continue to be raced everywhere. Are they as numerous as the Windsors ? no, but they're far from extinct.

Its a Yates head and although it uses some of the Cleveland style design it is way superior in every way to any Cleveland head and it was designed to be on Windsor block and NOT A CLEVELAND !!! :icon_ rofl:: icon_rofl::icon_r ofl:

Ok, it is not the same cleveland it was 30 years ago, it's the clevelands grandson, and yes it evolved to an extremely beefed up W block.

My plans so far (all this is going to take a while) is; CHI 3v aluminum heads, CHI aluminum 3V intake, CHI or comp roller cam conversion, holley multiport injection with maybe a centrifugal blower. As for suspension a ladder bar rear shortened axle and 12" tires should be enough to get me close to the 11's at least. I talked with CHI and asked them about the combo I am looking at, according to them it should be close to 550 (N/A)same setup stroked close to 625 (N/A), I may go for the stroker, may not.

Just a word of warning, don't get into a xxxxing match, one of the mod's doesn't like it. I think its all good and informative, we all have our own opions and that all they are.

:icon_idea:The only retard here seems to be you.:icon_idea: I don't preach on forums of what I can or have done to noobs like you. I prove it daily to noobs like you. I was driving trucks when you were pushing tonka toys around your mom's yard. :icon_rofl: And while you're busy fixated on Clevelands, what motor did Ford use to win Lemans, 2 years running ?

I dont hardly think so there pal as I am alot older then you think. Wake up and get out of this dream you are living in. Its the real world out here and the charlston is long gone along with the dinosaurs you like to hold on to. In todays world we have engines that only displace 281CID and make 390HP or ones that are 330CID and make well over 500HP and get 20MPG. WAKE UP!!!

:icon_confused:Gee, that's funny, you're acting like a 5 year old here. :icon_rofl: You may be old, but I've got a LOT more experience than you'll ever attain in trucks. 33 years and over 3 million miles in 44 states, and two provinces in Canada.

I guess since this is going to turn into a peeing contest and project bashing thread im done
This is just what my last post was about, don't need a pissing match, just some good help no matter what personal opions are. Only thing I warned you about was the headers. I have some shots of some one putting the custom headers for a 351W into a newer Ranger and it's a tight fit. Hell, other than that, go for it, they have fit the 460 into the early ones, be the first one the block!

Mike, how about a little 4.6L (281 ci for us old folks) that puts 500 rwhp and still gets over 20mpg on the interstate and is very nice as a DD, no lopy cams and that stuff. I play both sides of the street and like them both.

I'll make this quick, it's in my '07' Roush 427R that I had upgraded to the forged bottom end and the bigger TVS 2300 blower, all done right at the Roush "Mother Ship"

Nice ride!!! Wish I was close by so I could come and see it. There are a couple of guys here that run their 427R's out at Firebird raceway around the road course and they always sound wicked. :icon_thumby:
