daily doubler build

I'd really like to run slugs, they just don't work well for double duty.

They come with a set of dummy loads, takes about 5 minutes to swap them out.

Oh sweet. Didn't know that. Worth looking into anyways.

Finally built a hi-lift mount. Does the job.

nahhh....just had your camara crooked.....:D

l8r, John

btw...looks good...

The huge dent in my bed rail makes it look a lot worse than it actually is.

Thanks man. Now I won't have to rely on my buddies when I get hung up on the trail :D

I was all horny for a 60" hi-lift/jackall...until I realized I still can't get a tire off the ground with one without chaining up the suspension, and that my aluminum floorjack with a big skid welded to the bottom works great! Oh, and a winch works great for 'hanging' up on the trail, lol.

Hey man do you know whats wrong with the pics on the first 5 pages? They wont show up for them and I would love to check out the build you did on the doubler. Im going to get a DD Machine doubler kit for my Exploder and would like to check out your info. You seem like you got all the bugs worked out of it and all that good stuff.

Looks good! I should go finish mine up now....

I must have shuffled the pics around and now TRS can't locate them when it tries to go to the original location.

I bought my doubler used, but I've had it apart so many times I know it like the back of my hand. What do you need to know?

Thanks :D

Its pretty solid with the addition of the plates. It kinda sucks cause you have to work around the molded portions of the bed though. Working around those greatly limits your options for mounting locations.

Nothing really in particular yet I was just wanting to check out the pics to see what I am getting myself into. Mine will also be installed in a daily driver.

Is that doubler really efficient? I am thinking to have one. Do you think I should pursue buying it? :D

Don't buy/build one unless you need it. I was getting into more and more difficult obstacles, and was always needing a lower gear.

After having mine for a couple years, its hard to imagine how I wheeled without one.

Small update, did some wheelin again.

Just a couple pics of my truck on the same obstacles as probably 20% of the pics in this thread. I need to get away from the Badlands.

No serious damage. Ripped a valve stem though. Oaks hollered at me which kept me from traversing a fairly gnarly ledge which would have surely damaged my rim (tire was completely flat - I didn't notice :dunno:) T

here happened to be a guy right there with OBA. Aired me up, made it back to camp, pulled the tire off and the Badlands shop hooked me up with another valve stem. $3.50 and 20 minutes later I was rollin again. Hard to beat that.

Stock lockout is still holding up. I've got 2 other stockers to break before I start lookin at drive flanges.

Well its time for a bump I guess. Been wheeling a decent amount, but no good pics. Here's one just to hold your interest :D

Bog I ran a couple weekends ago

I was coming home from school yesterday and lost oil pressure. Trailered it to the shop today, changed the oil, and still no pressure. Lifters are ticking like mad. I haven't done any tests to confirm that the pump is dead, but after changing the oil and letting it run for a while, there's still a definite line on the dipstick indicating the oil level. This tells me that oil isn't flowin.

According to my Haynes, you've gotta pull the engine to get the pan off to replace the oil pump. I think its time for a 4.0L swap :D
