My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

what would a sand blaster useing soda or some other medium do to one (intake), I would try, but I don't have a sand blaster yet.

Robert

I think using a sandblaster with any media would be a bad idea.. The idea is to get is evenly smooth.. there is no way to do that with a sandblaster. plus you have to get rid of the pits.. I would think the pits could be made deeper blasting it.. Bottom line is it needs to be smooth not wavy. And fine enough scratched that the scratches can be polishes out.. Such as 1500 or 2000.. the more sanding on final (2000) the easier it will be to polish to a high luster finish.. same thing with paint...

I have a chrome rear bumper with brackets... I work in Smyrna right off 285 and South Cobb..I think that is closer to Roswell??? Not sure on the front brackets being different.. Prepping one for paint sucks huh?

PM sent about the bumper.

My friend lives right off South Cobb on Cooper Lake but I'm also too often close to your neck of woods at Duluth where my other money pit aka Bass Pro Shops is. So definitely once you get your project done I want to see the finished product live with my own eyes.

You cant be more right about the prep work. My truck is special case since it first lived over 10 years in PA and collected a little rust there. Then the owner decided to get a tan for a few years in FL where the paint flaked away nicely before it got to GA.

Have you thought if that Dremel oscillating tool would be any help on the intake project. I would think it would save at least a little bit of the manual labor.

I used a Dremel tool.. It helps in tight places but thats about it.. I used about 6 different tools including a grinder... Unless mine was the worse one to ever be molded there is no easy way that I know of...

No huge deal bud. I have a free pass Saturday at a JY here in ga.. I can have for free anything I want... I have no idea what will be there as far as the Rangers go but maybe I will get lucky... :dunno: It will be my first time going there... I thought the 90s Ranger / Explorers shared the same door panel since it is the same door... :shok:

Haha, well actually, if you look at the doors it's not quite the same door. If I could explain it over teh intarwebs I would, but just go compare an Expo door to a Ranger one, you'll see some differences right off the bat.

Hmm I always thought it was the same door as the Ranger... I found a pic of a 93 Xplorer I see what you mean.. I never looked past the front end before to be honest... Learn somethin new every day!!

I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think the two door explorer might have the same door, just not the four door one.

Well I got the parts from LMC yay!!! Not sure what I am going to get done this weekend with going to the JY tomorrow... I'd like to get the tailgate painted atleast.. Also looking into some new Spray in liner from SEMS... I am going to spray from just behind the stake holes to the inside of the bed... I thought about laying a helluva paint job back there too but nah... Too much to get it prepped... Pics of the weekend coming soon!!

Was at the JY today, no tan XLT panels. Sorry! =[

I'll keep my eye out every time I go until I know you've found some. They shouldn't be TOO terribly hard to come by...

Yesterday I flushed the cooling system, replaced the heater hoses, and put the windshild washer / coolant tank on... On a side note a long time ago when i first did the 4.0 swap I used the orange antifreeze.. BIG Mistake.. it ate the sealer on the intake and I had to put a new gasket in and redo the sealer... Pics coming..
