I like what you've done so far! This is very cool.
I like your bumper choice, looks nice! race truck like![]()
it would be a 429ci stacked with dual quads such as the engine me and my dad pulled from a JY out of a 71 mach 1 drag car that had seen better daysa shelby ranger should have a 429 carbed with a t5 behind it and a nice rack and the ford ranger gt body kit a nice color with some strips. thats just how i see it
Thanks Stew!! Thinking on putting "COBRA" or perhaps a "SHELBY" decal in between the driving lights down low... Opinions anyone????
heh heh..you asked for it now
what I personally would do I think is paint the lower lip of the valance (the lip that 'touches' the road) the gold color you're using (with the contrast being at the center line of the concave of the lip all the way to where the bumper meets the wheel wells) and in that gold I'd somehow stencil out SHELBY in black...or maybe SHELBY 4.0 OHV or something, maybe even italicize it a lil bit.

I like the SHELBY idea, ever think of doing hood pins? they would look sweet, especially if they were gold
LOL That sounds like too much like work!! Decals are easier and add horsepower!!![]()
oh don't they though!!
anyway yea it probably would be a lot of work but I bet it'd look pretty slick. I have a hard time explaining things sometimes too though so maybe I made it sound harder then it'd be lol. jic thats what I happened I messed with gimp a little bit and came out with this:

now..of course it'd be a lil refined I hope lol but maybe that helps get the idea across.
Man gas and tires must be cheap out thereIt's expensive enough as it is keeping tires on it with the 4.0 and 3.45 rearend..

nah, just as expensive here, but its not in a road car. we dropped it in to a '86 monte carlo, NOW BEFORE EVERYONE YELLS AT ME.... i race dirt track stock cars and the class specs are so skewed that the only decent car that will fit them is an older GM monte based car, (grand national, regal, cutlas, ect.) mustangs arent allowed due to their lacked frame rails. We slapped on the biggest 'powered by FORD' sticker on the hood that would fit just to piss off the rest of the class cause they almost all love their lame 305, 383, and 454's, too bad the 454 is a dog for its size and our 429 puts it to shame on the dirt. Our last dyno read that our cars putting 604hp to the ground naturally aspirated on turbo blue race fuel. Tommy,(the guy with the 454 in or class), his read out at 559hp to the ground.Just one more reason that oval tracks are dominated by Blue Ovals.
oh yea, one last thing, i started in this class four years ago at 14, I am the second youngest in my class, the youngest is 16 and not quite "on the wheel yet" as we say, the rest of the guys are about 29 and up, so being out powered and not to mention out driven by an 18 year old really gets their Cage Rage goin'.![]()
