I ended up taking 4x4's advice and splitting my rca's at the headunit to give me my left and right soundstage, the speakers sound three times better when i deliver the power this way.

The subwoofer install also went well, im sure the polyfill helps out with the bass.

Everything sounds crystal clear and I'm loving the bass I get, it's LOUD, lol.

Thanks for everyone's advice and help, if I remembered all the usernames I'd list em all.

Pics coming soon, after I clean my truck :D

Final System:
Alpine PDX-5 Amp
Infinity Reference 6822cf x 4 speakers
Polk Audio MM1240SVC x 1 subwoofer
:thefinger:

BTW, do you think these measurements are truly "actual" and should I set my gains going off these figures?

If these are truly the specs then my subwoofer matches perfectly, it's rated at 425, but I'm kinda weary of whether these are true tested figures or just marketing gimmick... I know Alpine is good though so I do want to trust them.

Nice! I'm running the same Infinity speakers, but only off the HU. Lovin' em!!!

I have a 5ch amp and 10" JL sub that will make it's way in sometime this summer.

Awesome man, get that amp in there it will make those speakers move! And the 10 inch JL sub will be plenty, trust me, my 12 is almost too much for some songs, haha.

Good luck.

that's funny, once i got my 12 installed, all i wanted is more more more lol. i could handle about 3 of them in my standard cab... if i could fit it, it would be insane.

maybe i don't feel like it's enough because it's a shallow mount, but i plan on hopefully this summer trying my work at a fiberglass middle console and putting one or two 8's in it, which would fill in the mid bass more, and i also want to put some nice component door speakers in.

Actually, now that I've had it installed for three days I do want more, lol, it's addicting, I thought I was very satisfied but now I'm getting more hungry. I need to calm down and enjoy what i have though, my wallet would get pissed off at me if I kept throwing money down on amps and subs, haha!

Stop saying that stuff! I've spent plenty on my system and all I want is to be satisfied... And to kick the crap out of my friend(s) systems lol. When all is said and done I'll have amped components and an amped 10. My friend is about to have his system done and he has 4" speakers powered off his HU and 2 sony 10s powered off a 340 watt amp.... I'm hoping my 300 watt fed shallow 10 and amped components can out do his setup lol
Congrats with finishing your system! Post up those pics!!!

personally id use the rated power when setting gains but its up to you. The birthsheet is a benchtest with a regualted power supply to it but in your car your voltage can vary depending on what accessories you are using and other factors
