My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

Wow all i can say is wow saw some guys put up their light ides and i got to thinking since everything's in detail how about some custom lights for the front i mean what would shelby do right ok so i thought about it and heres what i came up with two ideas kinda like the stangs with the lights in the grill but i read you didnt think round lights and square lights would look how about one of these sorry bout the "paint" job

She is going to have a place for deriving lights in the ground effect under the bumper.. I may just leave it at that.. Like the ideas from everyone though!

I just read through your build and man, it is looking good! Keep up the great work! You're the prime example of a build with a lot of effort that is turning out great!

Shelby would put a pair of aircraft landing lights in a custom billet grill.

ofcourse Shelby also would have used an engine that was way to big to fit in the engine bay just to make sure it would decimate anything that was dumb enough to go up against it.

Shelby did alot of stuff but Shelby didnt have a budget. But this is multirangers vision of a Shelby ranger, not Shelby's and have to say hes going an excellent job. Wish I lived in a milder part of the U.S. so I can work on mine all year.

Hmm, if only we knew what Shelby would have done for a late 80's, early 90's mini truck regarding foglights. :icon_twisted:

Looks like he mounted them in the air dam.:icon_idea:

thats also the factory location for the lights in that gen Dakota..... Shelby just left them where they were.

The Shelby Dakota was nothing more than a favor from Shelby to Lee Iacocca to help revive the image of Dodge and sell trucks... I worked for Dodge dealerships for many years.... I will have lights in the same place as the Dakota... but with some imagination and in the Shelby spirit I would think there would be another spot for lights like in the grill...

True.. But Shelby never had to worry about gas prices and emissions and a sucky economy... I would like to do a V8 in a way but hell when I had a 2.3 in my first Ranger the rear end was so light with a little rain... Let's just say don't pull out in on coming traffic... All the power in the world is useless with no traction... Plus the 4.0 is plenty powerful and fast... most important.. It pulls the bass boat with ease..

Well the weather sucked total ass and with the shop having no heat it was too cold to paint... Sooooooooo.. all I got done on the truck was setting the bed on to get it in the shop.... It is sanded and ready to paint though... Instead spent all day cleaning up the shop.. I tell you what it sucked knowing the only thing between painting and cleaning was about 10 degrees... I guess I will shoot for next weekend.... Oh and it just doesn't seem like the belltech 4" drop lowered it at all to me... Opinions anyone???? Oh and I managed to burn through the paint buffing where the door handle goes.. So get to repaint it too!!!
