Yeah, I'm not sure if it would swap okay though. It should be OBDI for both, but I know it's ridiculously hard to swap a 95+ dash into older trucks because of the OBDII

There is a page about it in the tech section. It's really isn't that hard due to the fact that 83-92 share the same cab. Was going to do the swap when I had my '87, only got the door panel swap done before I traded it for the '92.

Love what you have done with the truck, glad you decided to keep it (late I know).

Cheers!

Your actually not that late on that comment. I've decided to get rid of it, and then changed my mind several times in the past year. The most recent was a week and a half ago right before I started school.

Hopefully those cathodes will come today.. if not.. I'm gonna be bored.

Got those cathodes yesterday. I still haven't had the chance to install them, I have a place picked out for the passengers side (right below the glove box) and I'm still trying to find a way to secure the drivers side. The hood popper is in the way. I'm trying to find a way to route it so that it is behind it, but I'm not sure if I will be able to yet.

I haven't even had the chance to test them. I would like to get everything hooked up and see if they work better than LED's (someone on another forum told me LED's are better, I say no.) but I'm waiting to make sure of mounting points before I cut and connect wires. Being too long is one thing, but needing to add on an extension is a pain in the rear.

leds arent bad, i have a 2 sets of 5 blue leds that i picked up at superbrightleds.com, for accent lighting like you are, i think, and theyre sooo cool.

trucks coming along great i like that you found the alarm system and no more Frankenstein bug shield i know you liked it....i almost dont want to tell you but if you want another one in perfect condition i got one sittin in my garage if you want it its yours

That's tempting. Very tempting.

But I think I'll have to pass. I've grown fond of it without the bug shield, and it's getting a cowl hood or edge conversion eventually anyway.

I finally got those Cathodes installed after a week or so of working out kinks. I was sent a bad transformer and cathodes. I was VERY upset. But, all it took was an email to the retailer (oznium) and they sent me out a new one right away. Got it all installed and it works fine and looks great. Gotta give rep to www.oznium.com for the good service and quick replacment.

Here's a few install pictures. I believe I left off with my switches?

Here's the passengers side. I discovered a neat little lip edge under the glove box. It's back far enough so that the glovebox doesn't hit it when it is opened, and under the dash enough so that it doesn't shine in my eyes.

If you can't tell I had less luck with the drivers side. I was going to relocate it to go under the cable for the hood latch, but it glows just fine where it is so I'll leave it for now.

A quick daytime photo after I got them installed and wired up. You can barely tell that they're on during the day, just a faint glow. Of course if your looking at it it seems much brighter, but I don't regularly stick my head under the dash while I'm driving.

And what you've been waiting for, NIGHT PICS.

And since the camera was having some issues with nighttime, I even made a little video.

That's almost sig worthy, if I had the room I would lol. Those things look good Koda.

those look sweet dude, much brighter than mine, but mine are also smaller, do you leave them on while driving?

Only at night. I used to drive with the dome light on sometimes, and that would really mess me up. But the cathodes are just right, so they don't blind me or distract me.

And so far they're A-OK by the troopers. I drive past five of them every night.

Nice I might have to get a set of those. But I always fight with what color to get green or yellow. I have a yellow engine so I think yellow is my trucks theme.

That could work.

Since I plan on turning my trucks interior to black/red I purchased the red ones. The available colors for the cathodes on oznium are Blue, Green, Red, White, UV, Purple, Pink, Yellow, and Orange. Some Walmarts also have them, but I think they only sell the no brand components, not a kit.

My car is going to get a few of the green ones installed in it once I get around to buying one. I want a subaru for my daily commute this winter, and for a secondary vehicle. The truck has developed two new issues, a hole in the tank (right at the full line, thankfully) and a crack in the windshield.

Subaru's are good vehicles. I live 10 minutes away from the plant that they make them at.

My dad got a tank from the junk yard and it had a pinhole hole on the fuel tube for the return line ( for when he was putting a TBI on his truck, but never wroked right due to to much fuel pressure) and and anyways solidered up the hole and worked great.

The windshield part might cost more money to fix. What were you doing when it cracked. One cause is from the cab flexing to much (happened to a fullsize Dodge we had and it happened while going down the street).
