Project Life Support.

It was either work on the nice soft grass, or the gravel. I chose grass.

The "blocks" I used were quite stable, I nailed then together in a few spots and the truck had no way of rolling off them. When I drove up on it I hit the front block and it stopped the truck dead. It was like hitting a curb dead on. Plus the parking brake and two wheel blocks in the back also helped my fear of crawling under it.

Sounds safe to me ( I use duct tape to hold stuff up and together). But it doesnt matter where a guy works as long as he gets his truck gone.

great to see u back, and working that truck!!
i work on grass to lol!! sometimes on concrete but mostly on grass.
hope to see it running fine again
why are u replacing the diff?

My dad blew his front tires on his truck the other day so I sold him mine. I had 235-75's in the front (matched his tires) and half of my set of 235-70's on the back. Ended up moving the back tires on my truck to the front (less tread, moved to area of least tread consumption) and put my other two on the back. Should be legal for the rest of the summer/fall and maybe a little bit of spring for next year until I get new tires. It looks odd with the small tires in the front.

Anyways, I noticed that I have my trucks cap on, and have a photo matching one from when I first got it. Time for a Before & After.

After^

Looks alot better now, but I think my springs may be sagging in the rear, the cap doesn't way all that much. Could just be the way I parked.

I also decided to work on that oil leak some more. I'm going to try patch panels JB welded to the pan. Yes, I'm using my new oil pan to mock up the patches in paper. I'd put the new pan on but I don't really have the time right now to pull the engine on my truck. I'll get it done eventually when I have a break from college, if this doesn't fix it. I'd have started cutting the panels out of metal, but it's two in the morning and I'm getting up at seven. Night guys.

Oh, and the pan/gasket combo is up for sale! PM me if your interested. I have a thread on it somewhere.. 80+shipping for both together. I'm taking a loss on that, because their both BRAND new.

Why are you selling them? Can't you just send it back?

Advance sold me an already OPEN box for the Gasket. They won't accept anything back that's already been opened. I wonder how they ended up with it in their inventory? They won't take it back.

The place that I bought the oil pan has a "no returns after 7 days of purchase" policy. It takes about 14 for it to be shipped.

Since no one will probably buy them, I'll end up having to hold onto them until I can get the money to have it fixed or something.

Fixed the radiator today. It started leaking pretty bad so I JB welded it and so far no leaks. We'll see how heat and pressure effects that though. I already have my eye on an all aluminum radiator online for just 120 bucks. :D

I'm lucky mine doesn't leak. Hope it wont either!!! Lets see your fix job, I wanna see this!! My dad solidered raditaors if they leaked but those are older ones and I dont know if yours is made out of aluminum or not.

My father did the same. Most of the time the solder wouldn't stick because the radiator was dirty.

I already have the radiator in so no fix pics, but it was leaking where the plastic connects to the metal. Theres a bunch of little slots and it was just pouring out of one of em. I JB Welded all of the slots for the bottom 3rd of the radiator (I wasn't sure which one) and the area in between them. I have it filled with water and no leaks.

Your lucky to not have leaks. For a while my radiator, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and oil was all leaking. Hell, I even have a leaky brake cylinder. Right now only the power steering and oil leaks, as well as that brake cylinder.

Your ranger isn't leaking, it marking it territory.

seems like someone got a crap load of JB weld for xmas or something your using that stuff like its going out of style or something nah just messing with you its a great thing to have around when you need a quick patch.

JB Weld is amazing. I'm using the JB Quick version, it cures in 4 minutes!

And it was only 5 bucks a pack :D So far I've used one and a half.

I actually fixed my key ring with it today. :D The shotgun shell kept falling off because the barrel clasp slips off on it's own.
