We live in the western world, no we don't.
And yes, I used to drive a lifted Ranger, and even a car with a '69 3.5 alloy v8 in it, but at least I'll admit the gluttony behind driving them, and don't drive them anymore, sure I'd love to, but I'm not going to act like doing so isn't a shitty, and pointless thing to do (aside from the pleasure I get from it). As for the shitty emmissions point, I've gotta disagree, not even sure how you could buy and plate a car that won't pass an emissions test, perhaps your emissions laws aren't doing their jobs afterall, and even environmetal considerations aside (which is a common theme in the posts of this thread) let's not forget the EXCESSIVE consumption denial going on, what reason is there to consume a finite resource (one we need for things like ambulances, semi's to ship food, all the basic elements of our society etc) at more than double the necessary rate? Because we fuckin' want to and we can?
Societal Denial for the win!
No emission checks here, if your gas is smoking like a diesel does under a load you might get a fix it ticket.
