Hello,
1992 Ford Ranger Supercab with 2.9 V6.

Does anyone know what inner/outer diameter and AN size fuel line for my truck?
I'm troubleshooting something. It's very old fuel line.
Looks like there might be newfangled connectors on the market compared to the OEM ones I have. Any recommendations ?

IDK exact diameter, but it's 5/16 and 3/8 nylon. Whatever those measure out to. I think those are the inside diameter.

Factory nylon lines were 5/16 which doesn’t really equate to AN. Technically it would be a -5AN which doesn’t really exist.

On my 89 Choptop Bronco II the fuel lines got replaced with -6AN braided PTFE for the pressure and I used it on the ends of a long run of 3/8” aluminum line for the return. Think the EVAP line ended up being 1/4” Ni-Copp because that’s what I had the right size.

On my 00 green Ranger I did -6AN braided PTFE for everything except the EVAP. My only complaint was dummy me trying to do it piecemeal instead of all in one go. Blew the old line remnants about a half a dozen times before I just tore it apart and did the rest of it.

-6AN is 3/8” inside diameter. Factory line was 5/16” ID, but there’s no problem going to 3/8” ID. You get a little more fuel volume available but overall it’s a negligible change, the truck won’t care.

If you really want 5/16”, Dorman sells nylon line, fittings, and the tool to assemble it to do factory style lines

I did some research online last night and it looks like mine is 3/8 inch OD (or tube size) and 5/16 inch inner diameter
Seems to agree with what you guys say. And my old fuel line material is:

engine bay: stainless steel braided with springlock connectors
rear of engine bay: nylon line with quick connector fittings and clips

Maybe I just stick with the OE setup.

Entirely up to you what you do. Some people have gone with the Dorman stuff for the OE style and it might be a little cheaper than AN. I went with AN on my rigs because I use AN for other things as well so it didn’t really make sense to invest in two different systems that do the same thing. All of the fittings you need to adapt -6AN to the factory systems exist, so the real determining factor is what you want to use

This would be full length braided too.

Evil Energy is decent stuff. Get the stainless braided PTFE, the stuff with the black nylon outer braid is more difficult to work with.
