My turbo'd 5.0L'd 4/5 dropped 2000 Ranger


i would think its something simple...fuse or something unplugged. how did you power the ms3 setup....may have popped something during that process.


i kinda want to come see this thing, looking forward to your dial in. this system sure is looking more like the longest term viable option to me.
 
It looks like they have changed the outputs you can configure with a firmware update. And I have those on outputs that don't output now. I haven't dove in very far yet.
It definitely had vss (oss) as it shifted perfect.

I like the megasquirt stuff because you can service it. You can modify it. You can modify the software even (if you know how, anyways). I don't like how closed Holley is, nor how cheap most of their stuff just feels. I also hate their software.

Megasquirt has some drawbacks, but it's under new ownership and it seems like they're trying to catch back up. A bunch of new products they were missing just came out. Dunno if they'll ever directly support dbw or direct injection, not a big deal for me as I don't want either of them.

Welp I was wrong, they just released their own dbw controller. They've always been very against it due to the liability.

i like the holley because it is dumb...like LS dumb.

i do think megasquirt is much better.

still iffy on the syvecs and haltech. i am around people running these systems and have some access to that world. i will never be a tuner, so living within the norms as far as engines and 1000 hp or so is just fine with me too.

i mean....i drive a fuggin idi diesel slug for shits sake.

That was basically it.

2 popped fuses, and i did not have the headlight switch installed yet.
 
Got the ranger out of the garage the other day, since the cold it coming in. Really needed to burn out that year old e85. I did disable the boost controller, it's on gate only which is 8-9psi. Still ran pretty darn well!


Sorry it's a short, don't know how to fix that or if I even can. But good Lord I could listen to that noise forever.
Edit: just noticed that it actually shifted 1-2 right near the beginning of that vid, most of the wheel spin was in 2nd.

Anyways, hard parked for the winter. Fuel system and cal tracks this winter.

We are also upgrading the electric service to the house and I'm putting a 100A sub panel on the garage finally, so I can get some real tools again.
