This is for a 2006 Ranger.

Got the new "Belt Weatherstrip / Window Scraper Seals".

Was wondering if they can be replaced without removing the mirrors and inside door panels.

If inner panels need to come off are there any tricks to get them off. There are two Philips head screws, one lower back and one at arm rest. Any help/ideas welcome. Don't want to try forcing anything and causing damage.

A picture of the back of a inner panel might help if it has to come off so I know where to pry if that is the way to go.

I've posted this vid before, and have installed new ones on my 01 XLT. It's not that difficult, and I don't think it can be done without removing the mirrors and panel's. Good luck.

I've seen a few like that, where they show the two screws just under the "grab bar" you use to close the door with. Then there is a single screw when the black cover with the window and other switch in it comes off.

Thing is my Ranger does not have those two switches or the two screws to hold that cover on! I have tried pulling the cover off but don't want to chance breaking it.

My Ranger is a very base model so it appears just different enough to cause my problem.

I reckon it is possible to replace without removing anything, but you need the right tool like this guy is using, and also a bit of luck I think.

I'll try working on it a little more Friday. I'd prefer to figure out how to remove the inner panel just incase I need to fix something else inside the door in the future.

Well after a good nights sleep I took another try at the Belt Weather strip on my 2006 Ranger's doors.

Took the two screws out, one down from the top in the arm rest and the other at the bottom rear corner of the inner door panel. Then with the window crank removed tried pulling up on the inner panel. The inner door handle does not give it much room to move, but just enough! Inner panel comes right off!

The new weather strips are just a touch too long, maybe 1/8 inch or so, but some careful work on the bench grinder on the end that is covered with the rear view mirror solved that minor problem.

One thing I do notice is the windows take a little more effort to raise and lower, but as the old weather strips are 19 years old I'm sure they are a little worn!

Congrats, I too have the hand-cranked windows, so I really appreciate your follow-up.

Q: WHERE did you buy the new ones from? Thanks in advance.
