dear Rusty......

it is an ice vehicle. just a run of the mill 3.5 liter truck....with lariat trim.

410 hp and 500 tq. stripping all of the electrical bits out of it only puts the towing and max payload back to normal.

so its better at being an ice vehicle then the vast majority of all vehicles ever produced before it came along....before 2021 how many machines had 400 hp and 500 ft lb? 1/2 ton with 12-14k towing? its a super truck....turned super duper truck with the powerboost.

it is what trucks should be.

and its not an electric platform for sure like the lightning. the lightning is a custom platform.

the cd6 otoh....is exactly that...it can be either or....or combination.

Yours is just a gas truck with a cheat code.

The post I was replying to was wanting a drag and drop difference between ICE and EV, I was saying it ain't that easy.

The work it takes to make an ICE vehicle a PHEV is fairly substantial.

From my understanding, it isn't as fuel efficient, and you need to keep the gas system for start up and switch it back on before you shut it down. My local school district used it in their busses for a number of years and then abandoned it and went back to diesel powered busses. I'm guessing it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be and ended up costing more than running with diesel.
Thats strange. We had a few propane yale lifts at my old job that ran GM 4.3L's....it just ran like a gas one. But yes they would empty 2 propane tanks on an 8 hr shift if you ran it hard. The diesels would go for 2 days

exactly.

your statement read to me otherwise....that my truck was not simply a truck with a cheat code.

when we were at the ranger release thing back....whenever the fawk that was... that cd6 was still completing.

it really did have everything. it was crazy to me. i liked the idea...then after checking out a few explorers i was not so sure....i really liked the d4 explorer better for usability directly comparing one to the other.. but having rear wheel drive and a manual trans appealed to me so i would let that slide.

last spring when they started shitcanning all of the hybrid programs and no update mach e....i started to develop some concerns.

they never utilized the platform as intended. then it looked like they were coming to some sort of sense.....then off to idiot land again. the magna projects are still on track and the canadian guys doing the hybrids.....true hybridz are still on track. i would prefer the hybrid style of my 150 over the canadian deal....but its really apealing to me at this time.

with the influx of illegals and these lots stacking up and manufacturers stepping back and the cost of used vehicles and sales movement.... creepy. these fawkers are hedging.

its in our face.

funny because I hopped on my computer just now to pay the $200 lease fee I have to pay every year because I don't use enough propane. I put a lot of work into making my house more efficient, and burn a lot of wood, and these MFers gotta penalize me for it. I would buy my own tank if everything didn't keep breaking.

How much propane do you use in a year?

I don't heat with it, just cook. So I use about 100 gallons a year, depending. I have a few 40lbs and a few 100 lbs I just swap around and get filled locally. Cheaper then home delivery and I don't have to rent a tank.

About 350 gallons, 500 gallon tank. I just run my furnace. When i first bought my house i had a propane water heater too, that alone used a tank a year. I switched that to electric when it went out.

you willingly have an electric hot water heater?

we had this on here when it popped right??

hypothetically.......lolzez

on a serious note....they are doing hydrogen engines.

I did the same upgrade, about April I rig for silent running and turn the propane tank off until fall. I love having that money pit shut down.

wow. is electricity free out there? must be cheap. and reliable. must be nice. i like electricity... but its cost varies wildly depending on where you live.

for heat....and cooking i prefer gas.

i run a rinaii tankless... but i also had a ton of people for a long time. its not even close. 150-200 a month difference between the tankless and the electric qr 50.

the damn water bill still sucked though.

we lose electricity alot and i like hot water i dont have to work hard for. an electric water heater would draw too much juice. but depending on water quality....it is easier to change elements then clean a tankless to keep peak efficiency.... always give and take.

Nothing is free but propane is also far from free. With modern crap nothing works without electricity anymore.

I can burn wood in my grill if I have to and I have piles of Coleman stoves if I have to make my mac-n-cheese in a blackout.

drill a gas well......your an iowan for craps sake....

we do have natural gas though.... propane would indeed be more. but not electricity more.

drill a gas well......your an iowan for craps sake....

If I drilled sideways about half a mile I could tap into the natural gas line by the highway...

anyways.....back to rusty.
