Looking for a new used vehicle. Your thoughts...

Well, didn't go for the truck. Heavy smoker, terrible smell. Walked away.

When I got my truck, PO was letting his dog use it for a house. It took me pulling the dash, rubber flooring and all interior trim, and replacing the seats, to get all of the dog hair/smell out of it. I had to replace the heater core, so when I pulled the dash, there was a crap load of dog hair behind the dash. After that, the smell was gone for good.

My truck smelled fine. Just old, stagnant truck smell. When I pulled all the trim for sound deadening, the insides of all the panels were caked in cigarette residue. I’m amazed it didn’t smell. New seats, carpet, headliner isn’t that expensive. Definitely would want a heavy discount tho.

Still been looking for a extra vehicle and came across this Sport Trac, put money down on it and hopefully it will be in my driveway by Sunday provided no mechanical issues.

02 4.0L auto 4WD I think its an XL model

Everybody drives a used car ;)

I cleaned my interior with rubbing alcohol which did a very good john of removing the food smells and stains from the fabrics. It also cleaned the rest too.

It looks to be in pretty good shape!

I think it is. I'm 3 hrs. away, so they are going to try and bring it up to me this week. But I will drive to get it this Sunday if they aren't able to. Provided there are no mechanical troubles its mine.

Some more photos. I’ve been looking at lift kits and I think the front is torsion bar to the lower a-arm in the picture (the hex head). Is this

I finally gave up on keeping the tire underneath, it stays in jambed territory there :/ I allways pack a tool box anyway so under it is a lot better for me. I keep a fairly decent chain to it which I also keep anyway to lock up gas bottles and such around towns I go to. Not a heavy chain but I use a lock off one of my guns on it, gives em something to think about ;)

Good lookin truck.
Be sure to get those two OilPressurized Timing Tensioners changed, should be done every 100kMiles/12yrs on the V6 4.0L SOHC engines.

Ok, I finally received a picture of the door sticker and I’m trying to decode it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not the best picture. I think the axle code is D2, paint code FL. But I’m not sure as they are blurry for me as I blow up the image.

What I think I see...
EXT is FL / RC is 74 / DSO is blank
WB is 126 / BRK is 4 / INT is PT / TP/PS is blank / R is 1 / AXLE is D2 / TR is D / SPR is 12
