I have a 1993 Ranger XLT SC 4x4. I'm not sure which Tailgate I need to order. Is my tailgate a flareside or a styleside? And can I order just a skin. I came up with these part #s. Which one is correct, I'm a little confused.

Styleside seen here: https://cdn05.carsforsale.com/491bc...ger-xlt-2dr-standard-cab-2wd-styleside-sb.jpg

Straight bed side front to back

Flareside seen here: https://blog.consumerguide.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/12/1.jpg

See the Step after cab and the flare on the fenders thats a Flareside, or "step side"
Flareside would have a narrower tail gate

Only you know what you have

Never seen just outer skin sold

Thank you. I have the Styleside Liftgate. Would you know which part # I would need for my Ranger?

Could other Ford Truck Tailgates fit my Ranger, for example an F1-50 etc.

93-2011 rangers are it.

Cant help you on the part number. A flareside gate should be narrower, if the place youre buying from lists measurements youll need the wider of the two.

So only Ranger Tailgates Fit? An F150 etc won't?

I also have to replace the rear glass above the tailgate on my truck topper, is that easy to remove? Mine is the fiberglass topper.

F150 is a full-size truck. It’s wider. Rangers, before 2011 are compact trucks. Newer Rangers are more of a mid-size.

It’s probably a standard rubber gasket type mounting. But you would have to check with the manufacturer of the topper for that. That’s an aftermarket part.

No an F150 gate wont fit. Too tall and too wide.

83-92 ranger gates *might* work but itll look goofy and im not 100% sure theyll interchange.

As for the cap...no idea

LMC Truck shows 1993-2005 Ranger Styleside tailgates will be interchageable
Seen here: https://www.lmctruck.com/1983-11-ford/bed-tailgate/fr-1993-11-bed-panels
$90 new

Won't be painted of course
Styleside was the most common bed on Rangers, regular cab or supercab used the same beds, so wrecking yards would be a good place to find one, as said 1993-2005 styleside tailgate will work on your 1993
Wrecking yard prices are usually 50% of new cost so $40-$50
These are already primed and painted, so you would just need to color match

Canopy makers will usually have replacement rear hatches but you need to find out which brand you have and which model, its not a "Ford part"
Check wrecking yards for canopies, and local "buy and sell" sites for whole canopies, 1993-2011 Ranger size, replacing the whole canopy with a used one might be cheaper than a new rear hatch

I got a brand new tailgate primed for $111 plus tax with free delivery.
And I replaced the rear hatch window of my cap with plexiglass. $103. I can live with that. As for the tailgate, i may paint it and clear coat it myself. There are some really good DIY painting videos on YouTube. The one below was very helpful. Especially the pointer on using the better clear coat.
