1988 Bronco II Virginia Trail Build

Give me your thoughts. I am hoping by going on the lowest coil it should be fine as far as compression of the spring.

I would try to clamp it to the spring so it cannot move into a place to be crushed. Or move it elsewhere and clamp.

So the ditch in my front yard was perfect for checking clearances. Pretty happy. Everything seems to clear fine.

Well got the axle pivot shims in, forgot to get pics, and caster camber bushings. Pretty pleased. Time to get it aligned now!

Axle shims were 2.5 degree. Between those and the u joint style shaft angle looks perfect. I'll get pics.

Trying to get the interior together. Scheduled an alignment next week. Hope to have the dash in tomorrow. Really getting to the short rows now, pretty excited. Got a few parts I need to pull from my donor truck was hoping to this weekend but this weather may be a little dangerous to pull door panels in. Don't want to crack anything. But at least today I got the shift bezel in, happy with the conversion.

Well all sorts of random progress today. Interior is fully back together, odds and ends wiring sorted through and front driveshaft in. Once the alignment is done then come the personalization mods. Roof rack, rear limited slip should be in next week, more lights, all the fun stuff!! Then comes cleaning the garage and getting my super duty put in there away from the weather.

Resealed the valve covers. Got some Permatex gaskets. Don't buy the reinforced ones from Rockauto. You'll get silicone all rubber ones... Repainted them as well but forgot pics.

Worthless silicone gaskets

$50 gaskets from Rockauto that are reinforced

Correct # from Napa. Sorry for lack of pics...

Man, I can’t wait to get my bronco’s fixed, lol. Still throwing money at my green Ranger right now, our repair fights don’t sound too different, lol

Yay!

I'm happy for you...

Thanks Gump! Some issues down shifting (maybe an issue with throttle cable...?) Doesn't seem to accelerate correctly. Some backfiring when under load, think that's a side effect of the above. Possibly adjustment of shift linkage on transmission. Engine seems to "hunt" some I still have plenty of work to do. Positive side, it's aligned, insured, drives and I can start figuring out the small things.

Yeah... that is huge.

I hope I'm in the same position come spring. 2022 had a bunch of moving parts to it. The G-Unit took a back seat to all of it. I did manage to buy a few goodies along the way for it and I'm really looking forward to getting busy and start working out the bugs... then enjoying the big ass smile on my face as I cruise it around.

Just trying to rack up some miles and find flaws/make tweaks for a little while. Still need to swap in the LS diff. Took a local farm road yesterday just to see how the suspension reacts.
