I bought a High Rider...

Looks great! Good job man.

I got the filler neck mess figured out, the industrial supply place next to my office had 1" ID gas rated hose in stock. It was a bitch to get it (a) onto the metal piece and (b) into the rubber/metal piece that I made.

I also spent hours last night on wiring in the new rear lights. Most of that was spent sitting, scratching my head, wondering
why
do
my
damn
brake
lights
not
work.

They worked before!!! Turn signals, tail lights, reverse lights work. Emergency flashers do not work either.

As it turns out I must have pulled the brake light fuse at some point and now all is well but it took me HOURS to figure that out.

Repair Procedure

1. Did you fool with it?

Yep, my fault, nobody else removed that fuse. The real question in my mind is, why did I do that? I have no answers.

Apparently I wanted that to sink in.

I didn't mean to post it twice.

Had a new windshield installed on Wednesday. Trim is back on. I wire wheeled all the paint off the wiper arms and buffed them before putting those back on... not sure that I like it, I may take them off and paint them black like they were. I thought it would match the chrome grill and other trim but I'm not sold on it.

nah, black wipers would look better. every time i see colored or chrome wipers on a vehicle, it really looks odd to me

That truck really looks great.

Making good progress with prepping the inside of the box for bedliner. Feels weird sanding on it so soon after paint... but it is what it is. Hopefully I will have a weekend here in the next week or two that I can spray it - I am using Raptor Liner.

Let's just get bypass the boring sanding pics and get right to progress. I took half of Friday off to go to the junkyard and picked a disc brake 8.8 with 4.10 gears for this truck... was done with that by 2:30 and it was nice out so I figured, why not spray bedliner? Since I was more or less ready and all... not going to have a lot of nice non-work days left this year.

This is two full coats of Raptor Liner plus about half a quart blasted over the inside of the box at random to use it up. I used four quarts total.

Waited about 1.5 hours after spraying the last of it and started peeling tape while it was still kinda mushy but not at all tacky. Very clean tape lines.

This afternoon I went out and started putting the trim back on - this involved using Alumabrite on everything and rounding corners/deburring/removing sharp edges. Whoever did the trim work did a shitty job but fortunately it was easy to fix.

Tail gate is back on as well, still need to build straps or chains for it.

Overall I am really happy with how the bedliner turned out. It was incredibly easy to spray and it's so thick that it's really hard to create runs, and it goes on nice and even, and there really is not much overspray if you don't go crazy with the air pressure.

Don't get it on your hootus though.

This build is awesome and it's one of the only reasons I still visit this site. I'm Rangerless again, so what else is there for me to do but live vicariously through people building some of my favorite trucks?
