2006 Sony "wega" LCD? Projection (the kind with the little replaceable lamp) 42 inch.
First " modern" tv i bought brand new in 06.
Well, the old sanyo in the bedroom took a total shit so i pulled the sony from the closet where i parked it after the bulb crapped out 5 yrs ago or so.
Spent 30 bucks on a bulb plugged it in and it starts (you can hear the fan running, power light comes on) for about 10 seconds then the fan kicks off, power light goes from green to red and blinks in 3 blink intervals.
Looked online and that is the TVs way of "pulling codes" and 3 blinks means a power supply issue.
So for shits i unplugged the new bulb, put the old one back in, and it doea the same thing except the lamp light blinks.
So my question is...do you think the new bulb is faulty or maybe the wrong one? I got the part number from the manual, its an XL2400 style bulb, granted its a 30 dollar crapazon special. I cant see any real difference between it and the old bulb except for much smaller power wires and the metal tabs being different.
Tv was fine besides the bulb when i parked it.
Any input?
