You need an HDMI to Composite video/audio unit

It needs a power adapter as well, it may work with the HDMI voltage from the DTV receiver but don't count on it
It just uses a phone charger plug in with mini-usb


"they" sell cables that claim to do this, they DO NOT work

Your 1984 Sony should have the yellow/red/white inputs on the back, if not you can get a channel 3/4 modulator to use with the HDMI/Composite converter

These converters also work with any HDMI out unit, like apple TV or media players
And no its NOT in HD, lol
It down converts it to 480p, you can change the DTV receiver to 4:3 TV format for better viewing and lower the resolution as well
