1990 5.0 swap thread (project Jenner)

Got the bed off and all the 6AN fuel lines ran up to the rail got the new intake on and of course the bolts that came with the 1/2" spacer for my intake are an inch too short... shocker... just gotta zip tie and secure everything the right way.

Its the smallest things that screw up you're pace. This bolt has the be put in before you put the upper intake on if you use the exploder upper....

Oh, yeah that's right. It's kind of a pain to deal with, especially with an intake spacer like I've got.

Yeah not to mention the bolts that came with the spacer were 6 1/2 inches long and I needed 7 inch bolts.... p.s most hardware stores dont stock grade 8 that long

I was just thinking that running 1.72 rockers might require the use of slightly taller valve covers, and the upper intake from SN95 Mustangs and Thunderbirds won't clear them without a spacer.. OEM Cobra valve covers also work, but cost far too much. I didn't know what valve covers and upper intake you were running.

The only reason I asked.
I got a half inch spacer and those shiny cover dont hit

That 2nd video makes me wish I would have changed cams before I installed my engine.

It will be interesting to see if you have stalling issues when coming to a stop, or high idle problems to cope with the stalling, etc, once you're driving it more often.. I've seen that a lot online with people that are running the Ford B cam and Mustang EEC's.

I would imagine you have to drive it like my one friends evo you gotta just let the clutch out and go. And some of those guys forget to bump the throttle like some of the old Cummins or Detroits I drove a couple Big cam tractor trailers and they needed a few bumps on the pedal coming to a stop
