I have a 95 2WD manual, OBDII connection with an ABS light that stays on. Checked the fluid level and all is good there. In the hopes of a quick fix I replaced the sensor on the differential. OBD port is useless to check codes as my reader will only go back to 1996 for ABS codes. Any ideas on how to pull codes to troubleshoot the ABS system? Thanks in advance for any input

I think 94 still had an EEC-IV style connector under the hood for ABS codes.

I just posted the information on another thread just about a week ago I'll look for it, he has a rabs doesn't he?

Yes I have RABS. Does my 95 have the EEC-IV style connector under the hood? I haven't seen it but it may be tucked away. OBDII connection operates for all general codes but for this trouble shooting I need to pinpoint the ABS codes.

I read the link posted on bleeding the RABS just not following the procedure. As of now brakes are working fine. No pulsing, normal pedal feel and travel. Thanks for the input so far just need a little rudder kick in the right direction.

My 95 has it in the bulkhead grommet in the clutch pedal area .

I have a 1995 also pulled the ABS code from the OBD-II hookup under steering on dash.
Just use the 1996 settings on the reader,
Got mine to pull up the front Right ABS sensor bad.
Can't hurt to try,
We'll that is if you have the front wheel ABS??
Could also give code for why light is on....

4WABS codes are the same a RABS?

I tried to trick the OBDII port with a 1996 Ranger settings on my reader and didn't recognize the 95.

Thanks for the input.

I'm going to check for the ABS port like in the video and work from there.

Thanks all for the input. I will report back when I have made some progress or just blown up the truck.

How is that possible, the older Rangers rabs did not even go through the PCM system

Maybe that's how he's gonna blow it up.lol

Found the ABS port with the orange and black wire, under the passenger side kick panel. Grounded the plug ang got 12 total blinks on the ABS light (11 short and 1 long). So I’m making some progress. Does anyone have the abs code sheet? Internet has some charts but conflicting information.

I appreciate all the help thus far.

Is that a light I see at the end of the tunnel?

Edit. My manual lists 12 blinks as fluid level switch grounded during a RABS stop
