My rebuild of my new 84 Ranger 302

I rewired my fuel pump from a toggle switch to it being on a fuel pump relay.

Much better solution for the pump brotha.
Can't wait to see you tearing in to the trans n rear projects! Very happy with the rebuild my shop did on my c4.
What shifter are u using again?
I know I said u like to race your rides and we'll I do too. My local track opens Feb 21st weather permitting for test n tune day. I hope to be there to kick off the season and get a baseline for benchmarking track progress :)

I think that we have the same shifter, it is the B&M Z-Gate. Yes I drag race my cars but have not race my truck yet. I might race it this Saturday before I put the C4 and rear end in to see what the difference in time will be. The track here is open year round.

I need a fuel sending unit for my truck, does anybody has one complete with the float?
Yesterday I pull my tank to see why the fuel gauge doesn't work and when I pulled the sending unit. it was missing the arm and the float and the wires.
If anybody has one shoot me a price with shipping to 31793 Ga

This weekend is the points race for IHRA at the track rear me. I'm going to be in it this year. Been a long time since I been in points in 2001. Been gurge racing since then. I'm working on my 8.8 rear end finally but won't put it in the truck until after this race.

Good luck racing freak! Post up your results when done, rooting for ya![emoji469] [emoji469]
Did u have re certify for points racing? My local track has it also...where big daddy broke the 200 mph mark back in 1965, Island dragway ;)

I also welded my spider gears together:icon_welder:. Limited slips are hard to find at a good price, everybody wants an arm and two legs for their used stuff.

I know its stupid to do it but it will do until I have money. I'm on a budget build.

I went to the junkyard today for kicks and giggles, and behold what I found a ranger with a 8.8 rear end inside the bed with a L/S 3:55 gears. Boom a sign from God :yahoo: I yank the differential and ring and pinion out so fast. Paid $65 for everything. this way I won'teat thru my tires with the welded differential

Nice find!!! What gears u running now?
I found an 8.8 out of a 89 stang locally with 3.08 and lsd for a hundo, was thinking about it. Lsd is proably toast. I'm thinking ranger rears don't take the same beating and probably more intact? Thoughts?

Could kind of go either way. The car may not have been driven as much and so forth.

General rule of thumb I have heard is by 100k consider a clutch LSD open.

Prymetime I'm running my 7.5 rear end with 3.08 gears open and it sucks. But hopefully if the weather allows it I will put my 8.8 Rear end with the 3.55 LSD tomorrow so I can test and tune saturday

I was moving the fuel pump and was tighten the bolt and nut, had a wrench wedge holding the nut and hit the drill to tighten and the wrench spun and went into my eyelid. It split my eyelid and cut my tear drain duct, Dr wanted to operate and put a tube in my eye for 4 months but I said no.
